Consider picking up a Japanese dictionary at the closest bookstore, and find a
term that might match the characters' personality-or, consider the opposite:
find a word that would completely contradict the attitude of the character (for
example, a girl with a typically feminine name could be a complete tomboy. Or,
as in Kiki's Delivery Service,
"Tonbo/Tombo" meant "dragonfly", I believe, and the
character was fascinated by aviation). However, if there is a character who
isn't of Japanese origin, it may seem a bit odd to give them a Japanese name
(just my opinion, though). I wish you the best of luck with the comic creating
process!

You can search names in Google, that'll help too. E.g - "Japanese
Names." There are plenty of websites that have a whole list of names for
both gender. That's what helps me in choosing a name for my characters.
Go to BabyNames dot com and BabyNamesWorld -personally I prefer the
latter. It's a good source for International names. Consider relating your
character's personalities with their name, or name them as how they symbolize in
your mind. Hope this could help Good
Luck!
