Does the director Uwe Boll ring a bell with any of you out there? He's a well
known director... actually he's a well known destroyer of video game to movie
adaptations. Such clunkers as Bloodrayne, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon
Siege Tale and House of the Dead. He grabs up video game licenses and then makes
terrible movies and subsequently blames the viewers for not seeing his genius.
Well there is a petition out there that requires one million signatures for him
to consider hanging it up as a director.
Well a new twist has been added to this already hillarious plotline. Stride Gum
has now sent out a press release saying they support this petition saying
"Since gamers are one of our most supportive groups, we've been looking for
ways to return the favor," said Gary Osifchin, Stride North American
Marketing Director. "And what better way is there to get gamers' backs than
by helping them rescue their cherished videogames from the clutches of Uwe
Boll?" They are actually going to give every person that signs the petition
a free pack of gum to support the cause.
Seriously, could this be one of the funniest things to unite people on the
internet EVER! Not only do you have gamers and movie fans saying "quit
screwing up our favorites" but now a corporate sponsor saying the same.
Will Uwe Boll be stopped? Will Stride Gum become the new chewing favorite of
dedicated gamers? More importantly, do you care?
Wow. It's an insane combination of hilarity and stupidity. In all honesty, I
really don't care what happens to this Uwe Boll guy (never heard of him until
now. Plus I could tell that those movies blew from a mile away), but this will
suffice for plenty of laughs for me! Since when do gamers support stride gum?
Well, whatever. It's just plain funny to me. That's good enough.

Well, I just signed the petition. If this guy is really that bad, then I
wouldn't hurt for me to sign it.

And I heard he was gonna make a World of Warcraft movie... I mean, how the hell
could you make a WoW movie? No matter what you'd do with the story it'll annoy
some segment of the fanbase especially when they have to modify stuff so people
who don't play the game or know what Warcraft is in the first place.

Uwe Boll is not that bad...well in fact he is really that bad, and eventhough he won't do what we tell him, at least he will feel it in the ear.
