I could have sworn that years ago I had stumbled on a website that was like a meeting place for anime fans. Anyone know of one?

I'm thinking something like craigslist, or adult friend finder, only NOT for sex and specifically for anime/manga fans to find each other and make friends IRL. Any ideas?

I just moved back to the 'States and in small town Sumter, SC there isn't much by way of 'local hang out spots'. And it's all high school territory... ;;; I'd love to go to a coffee house or Borders or something, but there just isn't any...

It might have been Meetup.com. It's not specific but you can search for anime or manga or lolita or whatever groups in your area.
