I think guns r better than swords but swords can deflect the bullets!

So hard to choose.

I like swords and swordsman

Skill with a sword means little to someone who can kill you with the twitch of a finger. All weapons were created with the intent of being a killing extension of the individual's body and the gun/ranged weapon is the ultimate expression of that.

The gun wins, anime or IRL. The bullet is faster than the sword.

Well, if you're talking about the real world, there is no way that a sword beats out a gun; it's a matter of accuracy and speed, but if you can at least pull a trigger, you'd have an advantage over a knife or sword. However, you get into anime and it's a bit more complicated because of the god-like abilities associated with the user. Kenshin had the speed of his draw on his side, and Vash had his quick and accurate trigger.

In the end, I say, why choose. I say take the same route as Dante from Devil May Cry, use a gun and a sword.

I think swords are better. After all, didn't you see Kenshin block a bullet with his blade...? Plus, you can run out of bullets, while a good blade sticks with you for a while.

I picked guns because I can use a variety and carry a variety, as well as put knives or something on the bottom of them if I wanted to. Also, I can kill somebody from miles away with a sniper =D.

swords and bows with arrows! duh! i mean take bleach 4 example, they took zanpaktos and gave them powers. awsome!

they all have there uses. Guns have range and Swords never run out of bullets.

Well in animes i'd pick swords or hand-to-hand combat. So much more exciting and believable. It's hard to believe that someone can go on a one-on-bizillion battle and come out completely unscathed in a gun battle like it seems some many gun battles tend to do. sword fighting is more one on one and creates much more drama =)

In real life, no violence is the best. that's corny but i really believe that to be true.

Combine the two in a Hannah Montana-esque 'Best of Both Worlds' scenario. You may think of the gunblades from the various Final Fantasies, but I'm thinkin' more the guns from Sin & Punishment. Lezerz Beams > Bullets. Everybody knows lightsabers are vastly superior to even the clayiest of claymores.
If I had to choose realistically, guns.
If intimidation somehow usurped law, swords all the way. As a pizza deliveryman of the future, I can only trust my personal safety, as well as the safety of my '30-minutes or its free' pies on the cold, folded steel of a sword.

i prefer swords. cos there are more moves u can incorporate so it's more visually 'stunning'? i think...
