guys, i need your help on writing a good love story, please. i dont know how to
start this so i need your help. what are the points that i should remember in
writing this?
plan out what kind of love story it is (dark, romantic, comedic, tragic),
determine your two "lovers" (or more than 2 lovers if you're planning
on triangles), their personalities and characteristics, and any implications
they may have.
For example, you can write a love story about an already married couple
expecting kids.
vs.
An already married couple and they both have affairs (oh boy!)
So it's really up to you Just
make sure that you keep things to some sort of realism (not too far fetched and
supernatural, unless you set it in a supernatural environment) and that it's
something you'll enjoy writing
Cheers!
Yup, it's just as Kuroimisa says. Plan everything first, write your ideas down.
Then form a plot/storyline, themes.. add information like, character/s,
locations and etc. Have OBSTACLES! Not every love story runs smoothly, so throw
in some unexpected events that can do some damage. Make the events as real as
possible!
Also remember when doing so, try and flow everything so it continues the
'romantic' feeling when writing. Choosing the right words, tone, atmosphere and
etc can express the 'Love' greater and leave an strong impact on the viewers.
Happy writing!
P.S: Don't rush it, take your time with it. I'm sure it'll turn out great too.
^^
I would recommend to always have a paper sheet and pen with you - you never know
when the good ideas come, and they almost always come when least expected. And I
would suggest to write down everything that'll come to your head, because you
can alway rewrite/delete some parts before publishing and who knows which of the
ideas that come into your head will be good or bad.
And I agree with Tenko - san, when everything goes smoothly it makes the story
boring.
i had written once a story bout this quadruplets being assassins n the guys they
were in love with don't know a thing bout their job.. kinda lame, but i think
THAT is the kind of dark love story kuroimisa is talking about.. a lot of
secrecy n stuff.. I THINK.. but hey, good luck writing tho!
*my pc corrupted before i managed to print out the story *
will i did but it turn out a disater :X
it went smoothly at first but i make a big 'splash ' on the paper coz my sister
just have to spill it on my paper *hmph*
A good love story...I like to write those stories that concern adventure, love
and comedy..but since yours is love:
1st:The title of your story
2nd:Your characters and how they relate with each other(their names as well)
3rd:Where does your story takes place;when, why and where
4th:Who is the hero and the heroine
5th:What is the theme/moral of the story
6th:Plan your starting, middle, climax and ending of the story
7th:Are there conflict between the characters
8th:And how to start it.(The introduction)
Thats all I can think of at the moment, our school teaches us the components of
novel so..

oh yeah and the language could be flowery.
First of all, don't get to descriptive in your love scenes. That just gets
disgusting. Stick with the basic emotions of your characters, the perspectives
they're coming from, and how they grow over the course of their love. You could
start when your lovers meet, or in the thick of their romance. It's all in the
story you're trying to tell. Do you want it to be about a blossoming love or an
enduring love?
I'd suggest figuring out the given circumstances; as said by Kyuoto: Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How.
-Who are the characters?
-What is happening in the story?
-Where does it take place?
-When does the story take place?
-Why are the characters doing whatever it is they're doing?
-How did it happen?
Give the characters names, figure out their personalities, likes, dislikes, etc.
Figure out what it is about your favorite writers and artists that make you like
their work, and what about your least favorite that makes you feel that way, and
create what you like, not what you think
others would like-stories get boring if the creator themself doesn't care for
it. Additionally, FutatsuNoNegai had some good advice about details. Decide, step by step, what is the most important thing
to do with your story. Consider creating a list, writing it down, and
following through with that.

oh yeah and the language could be flowery.
Follow the simple rules of:
Who, What, Where, When, Why, How
Your most basic outline
First of all, don't get to descriptive in your love scenes. That just gets disgusting. Stick with the basic emotions of your characters, the perspectives they're coming from, and how they grow over the course of their love. You could start when your lovers meet, or in the thick of their romance. It's all in the story you're trying to tell. Do you want it to be about a blossoming love or an enduring love?
Base the two protagonists on personal experience or on someone you know very well. It's much easier to do the character development.
And leap straight into action. Delay e.g. 'this happened when they were younger ah how tragic' at the begining is the biggest put off to readers.
I like the love stories where they meet and fight or dont get along at first but then end up falling in love
hmm, i'll be having a hard time in thinking all of these thoughts. what should i do first?
I'd suggest figuring out the given circumstances; as said by Kyuoto: Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How.
-Who are the characters?
-What is happening in the story?
-Where does it take place?
-When does the story take place?

-How did it happen?
Give the characters names, figure out their personalities, likes, dislikes, etc. Figure out what it is about your favorite writers and artists that make you like their work, and what about your least favorite that makes you feel that way, and create what you like, not what you think others would like-stories get boring if the creator themself doesn't care for it. Additionally, FutatsuNoNegai had some good advice about details. Decide, step by step, what is the most important thing to do with your story. Consider creating a list, writing it down, and following through with that.
Begin with some sort of love/hate relationship between the two characters. It makes it somewhat interesting when they actually do get together.
can i make it in just 21 pages?
