I've been gone a little bit, and recently came back.
I've tried downloading several images (I have 5 free credits and 198.04 normal
credits), so that should not be an issue, but when I try to save the image, all
it gives me is a small image that says "pwn3d" with
"minitokyo.net" under it.
As I said, I have plenty of credits to burn. I click on the download link, then
attempt to save the image, and get nothing.
It isn't just one or two images, either; it has been every image I've tried to
save.
Has MT changed to a pay-for site since I've left or something? Or is it just
some new anti-leeching feature that is buggered up right now? I couldn't find
anything talking about it in the forums here.
It might be your Internet connection or something, maybe it times out in the
middle of download and corrupts the image? It happened to me before, but not
very often, so I'm not sure what would be causing it. Do you download straight
from the Download link (ie right click, "Save As Target", or click on
it and it asks you whether to save or open the image and you save straight to
your computer), or do you open the image in your browser and right click the
image and "Save Image As"? (Uh, I hope that wasn't too confusing ^^;;
, I just wondered if your browser lets you see the image...)
MapleRose: I've tried all of those methods, with no success.
My browser (Firefox 3) displays the images just fine, too.
I can copy the image and paste it into GIMP, and save it that way (not the
easiest thing when some images are several million pixels in size), and my
download credits and free credits go down as normal, I just can't actually save
the image normally.
since i don't have this problem and use iex, i'd say: use iex
or search the firefox cache (if any? i don't know firefox) and you'll find the
file there
or reinstall the browser?
oldone: I use Linux, so IE isn't exactly and option for me, and even if it was,
I'd simply quit Minitokyo before I'd go back to that wretched browser. There are
plenty of other sites quite similar to MT in existence that, if it were a
browser issue (which, I suspect, it is not), would be more compatible with a
browser that has ~1/3 of the Internet usage, with it being upwards of ~3/4 in
some nations.
Never mind that I've had the issue come up on Opera, Konqueror and Epiphany, as
well.
Also, I disable caching just as soon as I install a new browser. Caching
(anything) causes more problems than it is worth, in the long-run.
Oh, well. There are different options available, other than MT, I suppose. And
to the MT staff, before they jump the gun on that statement: no, I am not trying
to "make threats" with saying that, I'm simply stating it as a matter
of a fact. If something breaks and a fix cannot be found, there is no point in
hanging on to it. One does not keep a broken plate, even if it is fine
china.

Is there anybody who has any idea about this at all? Any ideas? Anybody I could
specifically ask?
About week before FF3 was offically released, I tested latest beta by myself and
faced same problem as IronSerpent.
With FF 2.0.0.14 everything works fine but with FF3 when I save image I only get
"Pwn3d".
Now as I changed computer I installed FF3 and same problems continue. No matter
if click "download"-link, wait image is loaded and then takes
"save" or directly right click "download"-link and choose
"save".
But I may have solution - from browser settings check you have allowed
"third-party cookies". Atleast now 2 images saved with success after I
set this to own browser.

deng dude, i just dled a few pics right now and did it with no problem...not sure waht that could be thas kinda odd tho..
Maybe it has something to do with being absent from the site for so long? Perhaps you should take it up with a moderator or admin.
It could be that the images you're trying to download are corrupt. Can you give some links to the ones you tried downloading?
Chloe-chan: It is, literally, every single image. At the very least, it is all of the more recent images.

Um, I'm probably completely naive and dorky, but what does "pwn" even mean? LOL.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pwn
=[to] own (as in: [to] hack, control, make public)
but how does this apply hereto?
