I don't read it daily, but then I struggle to do lots of things I'm meant to do daily. I always start the year off with plans to build up the reading of the bible, but I pretty much need that extra shove to get into it, I guess that's why I like how our church has bible study groups. Provides an awesome place to share thoughts on a passage of scripture, fellowship, etc. Aside from that though, I prefer worship/singing praises to God/Jesus since that's pretty much my passion.

I've read one book of the bible. Revelation. It's fucktastically awesome.

Hmmm, you don't have to be a Christian to read it, I'm a seventh day Advantist Reform movement *a poor church >.<* but hey, I read the bible so we can have the clues to tommorw, but you dont have to read it. It's all your choice...

i have read the holy bible twice i read the old testomony once and the king james version once . k?
-_-' lol

i dont care about bible, i just sleep when im reading XD

Quote by Kage-BakaI don't read it all that often but have read it occassionally. :)

i am christian too. i used to be in a religious school but i don't think that reading the holy bible is a an obligation or a responsability, your faith is more important than the fact you read it everyday, it's my believes. i like to hear people talk about god , faith and other religious things... more than reading the bible, i particularly like to have the differents views of people who have faith, discussing about the way to express our devotion to god in our lifes everday... Like helping people in needs and things like that...

I'm not going to read the oldest pyramid scheme known to man. It tries to control you!

Quote by ProtistaSo, I noticed that you asked for proof regarding NOT reading the "scripture". But I would like to know where it says that you DO need to read it everyday.

Eh, sorry for the late response.
Work has kept me busy.

Within Ephesians it talks about putting on the full armor of God; which can be found in Chapter 6, starting at verse 10.
Within this, it tells me to "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
The word of God is the bible; therefore one must study it to use it when the time comes for battle.
One must do this everyday in order to be at the ready.
So, in this, I'm seeing that I must engulf myself in the word to maintain that armor of God.

Also, Jesus has always asked the people, "Have you never read the Scriptures."
Which tells me that I must read them in order to understand God's path.

Lastly, First Timothy states "Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching."
If the prophets read the scriptures, surely a follower of the Lords is not exempt from it.
Besides, there is so much in this bible that a believer cannot escape it and not read it.

Quote by ]Also, I'd like to express my belief that any translation of the Bible (no matter how old) does change the meaning of it at least somewhat.[/quote
You are exactly right.
I remember in one of my classes, there were some people totatlly rewriting it to fit their needs.
Changing words that do not even come close to the Hebrew translation.
Man, I wish I can present an example, but I can't remember off the bat.
Will post back though.

I'm chatolic, and yes, I read and study the Holy Bible...
I believe at her and I believe also, the Bible is the essential of the faith !!

religion is the biggest scam ever and people that buy into it are weak minded fools that need something to explain this crazy world, they should try something good like marijuana X)

I'm closer to Buddhism or the Wiccan outlook than I am to the Christian religion, but in general terms I'm a skeptic.

As for the original question, no, I haven't read the entire bible. I read Genesis and that's about it (I was looking for inspiration for a story).

I suppose, if I was forced to believe in the Christian outlook, I'd have to side with the rebels - e.g., Lucifer. From what I've seen, the "prince of evil" is more like a victim of bad PR by a childish tyrant....

i never read the bible, and i dont really think i need to. i dont have a religion, but i do believe in god

no. only because iam not relgis but i have no prblem with the people that do, grate for them, gives them somthin to belive in

I'm more of a christian, I like reading the holy bible, even though my family is gainst it, sadly. when I get older...I pray that I will have the courage to ask my parents to come to church with me.

I'm a CHristain but i barely read the bible lol        ^_^' ^_^' ^_^'

I'm atheist, but I read the Bible anyway. To me its amazing how such a book could potentially influence so many people. And it is interesting to read the Revelation, the end of the world and everything.

I'm catholic, and yes I've read the bible a couple of times, with Revelations being the one to capture my attention the most. I dunno, I guess my faith isn't as strong as everyone else's, but its still there.

LOL! That's right. Its from the earth and natural. God put it here for everyone to enjoy. :D (just trying to lighten up my mood a bit. sorry if it offends anyone.)

<__<;; No, I've never read the Bible before.. I'm not a Christian, more of a Buddhist.. I think.. if that's what it's called.. x.-;; But I'm planning to read it some time during my life, just as a.. "historical guide." =\

I hope one day, i will have the occasion to read a religious book

Nope, I don't read the bible even though I have seen it a few times. I am not a Christian or a believer in God. Therefore, I don't read the bible.
