Introduction
____________
This is my first publicized tutorial (although I still have many self-made tutorials, which I will post here, sooner or later )
Please do not publish this anywhere else without my permission... I have put much effort in making this tutorial

What you will gain from this tutorial :
- Understanding of working with layers (simple, two layered document)
- Layer blending modes, because this trick depends heavily on it
- Advanced brush effects like scattering and size jittering

The reason why I made this tutorial :
- I have no life... ROFL!
- sharing my skillz with all of you <.<
- Lots of ppl requested me to make tuts (yeah, since like months ago,.. haven't got the chance, sorry )
- To help you making better walls... yeah this is the most important thing..

Preparing media
_______________

First off, start with a new, blank image.. I use 800x600 resolution for this one, you can make it bigger, if you wish... Make sure it's a transparent (not filled) document...

Fill The blank layer with black using the paint bucket tool

swap the background/foreground color (press X on the keyboard), and click on the front color thumbnail to change the foreground color to blue (I use #0033FF for this one)

then go to Filter->Render->Difference Clouds, you can see that the nebula is forming...
repeat the filter using Ctrl+f to make it appear more 'thicker', repeat again as neccessary, you will get various results...

make a new layer, then set the blending mode to 'Color Dodge'
Fill it with black

then pick the Painbrush tool, and set white color as the foregound color..

| OPTIONAL STEP |

try brushing over the 'Color Dodged' layer, what do you get? It's somekind of neon-colored streak, neat eh? ^^

Advanced Steps

Go into brush options

drag the 'Spacing' slider to around 250%, or as necessary..

Make sure the checkbox next to 'Shape Dynamics' is active... then click on it to see the options... drag the 'Size jitter' slider to max (100%)

go into 'Scattering' option, and make sure the checkbox is active..
drag the scatter slider to max (1000%)

then use the Paintbrush tool again... set the brush size to around 20 pixels or less
brush over the layer, then VOILA! you have a very neat effect to make stars or magical effects for a character... very pretty, isn't it?

Conclusion

-Continue to experiment with different settings, and different colors...

-to make starfields, use even smaller brush and make it as random as possible..

-Try experimenting with duplicating the layer, and changing blending modes..

Last but not least, look forward my next tutorial.... lol dunno when I'll finish it...
