Gomen ne, mina-san. I've been so busy this past year or so (as evidenced by my retirement). I'm not sure how many more lessons I'll be able to get together for the group here, but here is one I had on my computer, but never got around to posting.
Basic colors in Japanese.
iro: color
ao (aoi): blue
aka (akai): red
chairo: brown
daidaiiro/ orenji : orange
kiiro/ iero : yellow
kuro (kuroi): black
midori: green
momoiro/ pinku: pink
murasaki: purple
shiro (shiroi): white
Sometimes, when used as an adjective, the character "i" is added to the end. For example, "aka" becomes "akai" when describing something that is red. (Colors in which this occurs are in parenthesis above)
"akai tori ga ookii desu ne"
The red bird is big, isn't it.
Renshuu shimashou! (Let's practice!)
Sukina iro wa nan desu ka.
What is your favorite color?
[Color] ga suki desu.
I like [color].
Let's also practice describing things by color using the vocabulary we already know from previous lessons!
