Since I'm watching both the anime & reading the manga for Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, I've been wondering (since the manga is coming to an end very soon) if the series will have a good/happy ending or not?
Personally I'm leaning toward (or at least want to believe) that the series will have a happy ending. Cuz darn it I think Kousei deserves some light/happiness in his life that does not end up snatched away. The kid doesn't need more loss.
My reasons are 1) I believe that with the way Kousei's character has been built, that it's more likely losing a second person so close & important to him would destroy all the effort that's been put into building him back up after recovering from his childhood trauma. 2) Since it's been hinted at soo heavily, it almost feels like it won't happen just because of that sheer amount of foreshadowing. This has been from both Kaori's character & with other characters saying that "There's an ever-present sorrow over his music" & "His growth is spurred by sorrow and he might have to lose someone to move forward." I feel like those words are more directed at the situation with his mother & may not necessarily hold true in this case, since Kaori being in his life presently has allowed him to grow greatly in a very positive way both as a pianist & a person.
So now I turn it over to you, what do you guys think? Is tragedy all that awaits Kousei or will there be a happy
ending?
