i named my puppy dog Kira (from Gundam Seed)
The cool thing is my dogs brown! (like Kira's brown hair)

I sure would. I would probably name my next cat Spinner (Cardcaptor Sakura) and maybe some fish after some other kids. I can't think of any specific names right now, but I know I wouldn't have any reservations against naming my pets after an anime character. Even my roommate doesn't mind doing that, she named her cat Lavi from D Gray Man!

Sure. I already named my cat Sylvester after the Loony Toon character. As long as I think the name fits I don't care what anyone else thinks. I'm still waiting for a cat I can name Snuggle Guts from a book I read :)

I think I ought to weigh up the power balance in this friendship...:SIf I had a pet I would probably call it Pluto...(after pluto from kuroshitsuji). XD

But if I had a daugther, I would like to name her "Sakura" (cherry blossom, there's no name in Spanish nor English that is a direct traslation to a name ) or "Nadesico" (Daysi, Margarita in Spanish). But since none in my family has japanese background, I have like no excuse to do that. The priest would say, like "Saku- what?
I have a friend named Midori, which means "green" (she's a beautiful girl). I tried to be her boyfriend. Too bad I had no chance, that would had gave me a good reason to use the name "Sakura". The strange thing is that Midori's parents don't watch anime. I think is a nice name.

Maybe especially names of pets in an anime but not the names of human characters in an anime. Whatever whtat name suits my pet will be fine.
