I'm wondering if anybody here thought the Dreamcast was a great console. I really feel it had potential but with Nintendo and Playstation it just didn't seem to take off. I really regret that I'm rather new to the Dreamcast and can't really find games to buy. My friend can burn me some but some are not easy to find. The DC had Sonic Adventure 2 and Shenmue.

I think the Dreamcast is still a great console, I still own mine and play it. It's too bad that DC didn't do as well as Playstation. As far as finding games, the only places there are to look for them would be at EBGames or GameStop, and online your best bet would be eBay. I still play my PSO v2 character on my DC. Sonic Adventures 2 is still a personal favorite

I own mine. It has great games. For example, SoulCalibur a great fighing game but the 2nd I didn't liked it. And RE: Code Veronica scary game. And a few games. I still love my Dreamcast.

I have my own DC I got three years ago.Games are still easily found in Akihabara or other game stores in Japan...
Crazy Taxi 1 & 2 are my fav.

well well ....you looking for DC games...then browes this site: www.play-asia.com

i still have a DC, but only 3 games

Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 0079 (awesome game)
Sonic Adventure 1
Sonic Adventure 2

i've had my dreamcast from there very beginning. i miss it, so much......oh well, as soon as i get a tv i'll be able to play it again. actaully, besides the nes and super, the dreamcast is the only high up console i have. go sega!

IMHO Dreamcast was and still is a great console. I have mine sitting right next to me hooked up to a 13 inch tv on my desk.

The games I like/am currently playing are....
Dead or Alive Limited Edition
Soul Calibur
Resident Evil Code Veronica
Grandia 2
Skies of Arcadia

yeah i got my dreamcast still running strong. i still play tokyo bus guide, shenmue II, and skies of arcadia.

I'm really mad that I have overlooked such a great console. I mean look at the VMU, has any console created such a cool memory card? I highly doubt it. I'm so happy because I just got Marvel vs. Capcom and will probably be getting Guilty Gear. The games I am trying to get are Sonic Adventure 2. Dead or Alive 2, Skies of Arcadia, and Shenmue (both).

Yah the dreamcast had some spectacular games and i was really sad when they discontinued it. It was awesome i still play it all the time. Some good games to check out on it are the original soul calibur, skies of arcadia (arguably the best rpg for the dreamcast), grandia 2 (second best rpg), original sonic adventure, Power Stone 1and2, Shenmue1and2, Gauntlet legends, Silver, Evolution 1And2, Phantasy Star Online, etc. Dreamcast had some mad potential it was the first online console but lack of dvd player set it back a little and ps2 dominated it sadly.

From all the consoles I have (4...not that much) it's the one that had the most usage, though I don't play my DC games that much now since the PS2 arrived I still regard it as an excellent console with some really good quality titles. Some of the games I have and highly recommend to anyone who likes games in the genre:
Soul Calibur
Street Fighter 3 Third Strike
Resident Evil - Code: Veronica
Project Justice
Dead or Alive 2 (Japanese version, the US and European ones blow)
Shenmue (you'll probably just play it a couple of times but those couple of times will be unforgetable)
Sonic Adventure (both 1 and 2)

i agree with rezuke on the aspect that some games are quite tough to find and one has to resort to "alternative methods" to get them, a good chunk of the games I own aren't even for sale here or are incredibly difficult to find - Garou: Mark of the Wolves, GGX, Last Blade 2, KoF 98/99, Capcom vs SNK, Marvel vs Capcom 2....yeah, fighting games, only a very select few appreciate them here.

Grandia 2 is such a great game. I loved my Dreamcast, but I had to sell it to buy my gamecube. :(

There were some awesome RPGs on the Dreamcast that never made their way onto the other systems. At least now that Sega's working as a freelance gaming company, those RPGs like Skies of Arcadia are finding their way onto the other platforms.

Really? What other platforms are we talking about? I really would like to play it because I have heard it is probably the best RPG on the Dreamcast.
