Difintely Divx ofver Real Media. Real was designed for "internet
streaming" where Divx is designed for local Video to CPU decompression.
However, there are numerous Divx compresion ratios out there. If you need a
small size similair to what you might see in REal Player, it can be done.
Research on this more and you should see what I'm talking about.
DivX... and i use "real alternative" when i have to.
I just never liked the whole place a add on your computer without you asking
policy they (Real Media) had, maybe it's changed I wouldn't know cos i haven't
installed it since version 8.
I recommend Divx. You can get better quality and compress with Divx than Real
Media. Plus there are more people who has Divx ready players than Real Media
ones on their PC.
x.264 has new hardware support, this two format do not have.
So, if you have new video card, like ATi X2000 series, use x.264.
If you don't have new videocard, do use rmvb.
ewwww... real media? Is that thing still alive? =)
Its divx for me.
I would have to say Divx. Real player is really good, but not that good.
Quality vise, DiVX... Real Media used to have bad-bad quality last time. But they are definitely developing, now the rmvb files getting better.

Real Media streaming is amazing when compared to DivX.
However for storage and quality, defenitely DivX. (Though XviD is WAY better ^^)
DivX!!!!

divx is great, but I got a small download limit, so rm works better for me
I would choose divx.. well I still got a lot of space.. and download rates are pretty good.. so yep~
I love Divx, I can't stand Real Media

DivX gives better quality. I suppose real media might compress better, but it's always so ugly.

DivX, Its easier to use and has a more familiar setup.
DivX I believe is far superior to real player. Seems to me that its of better quality , and I do agree, real media does look ugly.
DivX
Divx it's the first player I got that I liked
I utterly hate real player and anything associated with it, except for streaming stuff online, and thats only if I must
DivX all the way!
DivX for quality.
I prefering DivX.
DivX has my vote....it brings a new "meaning" to anime...
