Dub-The words of the anime in YOUR language
I personally perfer fansubs because the translation is more towards our slang.
Dvd subs are too dull and I hate dubs.

DVD rips I believe they're generally more accurate in the translations and what
not since their job is to translate it for fans...not "make it work"

So far as I can tell, fansubs are better than DVD subs. Often quality wise too.
I can only guess as to why -- perhaps the translators who're paid to do the DVDs
don't care what they're translating. Or in some cases, such as Excel Saga, just
stink.
I like fansubs as the subs are nice and smooth, DVD subs look shit on my
projector. I can't really say anything about the translation as I don't speek
much japanese. As for Dubs it depends, there are a few good ones but alot of
crap ones.
I actually prefer the original japanese versions on most anime with subtitles of
course...Still learning japanese so I kinda need those...
Most anime I have seen in japanese so when I buy them later I tend to watch them
in english for a few minutes to see how the english voices are for them...90% of
time it makes me angry so I just flip it over to the japanese voices with
subs...
DVD subbed anime is good, because you know the subs are of good quality, but I
do tend to like fan subbed ones because once you find a group that you like, you
get used to it. As long as it isn't dubbed, I can usually manage ^^ .
Fansubs rulez, a dvd it will not be good ad a fansub, but it don't bothers
me.
I hate dub, honestly i don't watch dub anime, it just sucks too much....

I like fansubs better than the DVD-subs. It's just that it's easier to buy than wait for the download, it takes forever.
