You need bittorrent, a downloading client to download them. If you dont want to
download bittorrent you can download anime from www.fansub.tv , they have direct downloads for
lots of new animes.

A lot of fansubs are in .torrent format, but have like other .avi or something before it, are supposed to like download bittorrent or something?

I used to use bittornado but I found that Azurues' a lot more easy to use and manage. http://azureus.sourceforge.net/
i use Azurues also... very easy to use... need a torrent program to d/l torrents... still trying to figure out how to host a torrent...

I believe you need a server to host an board the torrent. Hence, when a site is taken down, the torrent doesn't work.

azureus needs to run in java enviroment, that will take some RAM space.
try bit tirnado. its less cosmetics than azureus...
