If the game is no longer any fun to me or if I want to ruin it for myself I'll
use cheat codes. If I want to speed things up because they're taking too long
(ie. been going for a couple of days) I'll also use them. Otherwise I don't use
them because all the fun just gets sapped out of the game then. The challenge is
no longer there and so it becomes 'Why bother?'
I usually try to beat the game first, and then I will have a blast using the
cheat codes. I am not into racing all that much so if it is a racing game, I
usually use cheat codes right away.
I also try to beat the game first....but if there's a part that's too hard for
me or i dont feel like dealing with...i usually just cheat enough to get past
that one point.
I always try to beat the game first and usally do. I usally use cheats when I
am done beating a game and want to just get back to a certain level. I usually
use cheat codes in fighting games to unlock players or certian features.
I used to use them a lot, but I've matured now and see the foolishness in
cheating. It's more fun without the cheats...where's the challenge of a game if
you cheat?
Cheats are fun, but in a little way, because the game is designed to play it
with some rules and if you obey those rules, you will have fun, otherwise you'll
have some fun but in a diferent way (ehh, you undestand me, right?) that it's
not "fair" or not legal.
Besides of that, it's better for you to finish a game without cheats, than
finish it with cheats, because everybody could finish it cheating, but without
them, ah , that's the real challenge.
First I play a game without anything special, no faqs or cheats or whatever. The
second time around, I'll use a faq, then once I've done everything, I'll screw
around in the game messing with cheats. Besides that, I'll use cheats on a game
that has really really crappy / tedious gameplay, but an awesome story. It makes
it easier to run through and see what happens without the annoying leveling up
to beat absurd bosses.
Everytime i play a game, a never use cheat until it reaches a point where you
have to keep clocking the game to unlock things...... from then on the game
become sux..... so i decided to use cheat.
If it wasn't for that, no cheat.
It depends on the game. I've used a cheat in San Andreas to complete one of the
missions. Other than that I use them once i've beaten the game at least once.
Only after I beat the game or I find it so difficult that I am not enjoying
myself. Then I quickly disable them when I am passed the area that brought me so
much pain.
I've only used cheat codes in Pokemon. But that's only after I beat the game. I
don't have any way to do those stupid Nintendo events to get the goods in
Pokemon.
I use them all the time, believe me. The whole party in Star Ocean 3 is at or
above level 200. I have them all do about 40,000 damage or more per hit. Nel is
absolutely deadly with the combination of Mirror Slice and Divine Wrath with
each hit doing about 45,000 to 60,000 damage. That's the purpose of the Code
Breaker! I'd recommend it, guys.
Meh, I never use cheats, even after I beat a game these days. The only time I
use cheats now is if I'm bored and want to laugh at some stuff and just do it
for the heck of it.
Hmm, I remember using some cheat codes in Dynasty Warriors 3. I didn't know what
would be considered as "finishing the game" in there. I used some
codes to modify Lu Bu's weapon. Made him a god in that game. It's funny cause I
had him jumping over the archer towers. Almost like he was flying. And adding
the death attribute to his weapon, very sweet.
How often do you cheat in videogames? Come on....all of us have done it once

well i create code breaker codes for GBA games. so i guess i cheat quite alot. the most codes i created was for Harvest Moon: Friends of mineral town.

Games are meant to entertain. I've only ever used codes at times when the game no longer was fun, or to cut out long periods of repetitive behavior.
"Cheating is the gift than man gives himself"
Heh, I use that quote all the time.
I used to use them a lot, but I've matured now and see the foolishness in cheating. It's more fun without the cheats...where's the challenge of a game if you cheat?
first i try to play the game but if the monster or the boss very strong and i dont have mush i itame i use the cheats
i used cheat code after beating a game for fun, like final fantasy X. I just keep playing over and over with different cheat.

Everytime I play bounce on my friend's handphone. lmao
*laugh* I really don't understand what video games mean.

I always try to finish the game before cheat . After, it's funny !!
I use cheats to find new undocumented features and alternate ways to finish the games.

I use them quite a lot because I get more enjoyment out of a game if it's too hard, so I don't see it as a problem.
GameFAQS is my second home... but when I'm serious about a game, I try to finish it first...
