Now I'm getting some unknown format, where i have to manually choose what program i want to use to open, every time i open a picture. Could you explain how to fix this, please?

yeah.. im not likein that O_o; i saved a scan today and it showed up as unknown too.

You guys didn't said what browser you use but i assume it's IE because i've heard these kind of things happen. Well here's a solution. There is a drop-down meny where you can select jpg format instead of bmp. If there is no such thing, just write the filename yourself, like veryniceimage.jpg and save it. Should be ok after that.

Someone got a little obsessed with the "post reply" button......

Yeah, sorry about that. When I submitted it at first time it only gave an error page. Then i pressed back button and tried again in few minutes and again and again.. all the same error.. but seems that post(s) got through.

it works fine...iot, use the drop down menu and choose jpg

another solution: change your browser to firefox...
i havent encountered any downloading problems with this browser, so maybe it can fix the problem also?

yup, it works fine for me, browse with fire fox, highly recommended ;)

well you see, its saving as an unknown format O_o; its not the problem of getting it as a bmp or jpeg, its when it saves in your documents its uknown... quite irritating.

thats easy, just save it, right click the file after its saved, go to properties, and where you see the name, add ".jpg" at the end then hit ok. Your file will now be a jpg file and open in your default browser for jpg images ^^

Sometimes IE screws up and you can't save any image but as a .bmp. So you need to go into your cache and clear it by doing this:
Close IE (well, you may not have to do this, but do it anyway ;) )
Right-click your IE icon and choose "Properties"
Under Temporary Internet Files, click "delete files"
Then click OK.

Your IE should be back to normal now.
