i thk i like FFVII produce by squaresoft in 1997, although its an old game.
nowadays, squaresoft only concentrate their games mostly on graphics. but for me
storyline comes 1st. wad about u?
It's strange to hear ffvii be called "an old game."
As far as my favorite Squaresoft game goes, I'm saying Final Fantasy IV. It's
my favorite game, really. The story is amazing, and it's themes are pretty much
re-hashed through all the other FFs. It also has mature themes, which was a
relatively new concept for games at the time. The musical score is absolutely
epic, especially considering it was a first generation Super Nintendo game. The
cast of characters is just awesome, and they are all memorable, which is
impressive considering they're just superdeformed sprites. They all have
prupose too, as opposed to the customizable characters of the latter FFs who all
become identical in the gameplay perspective. Lastly, it has a final boss that
is not a complete pushover.
The only problem is that Edge has the dying proficiency. He dies more than any
other character ever, i swear. When Rubicant just nukes him the first time you
meet, that should have been a warning. Ninjas are supposed to flip out and be
totally sweet, not die all the time.
Oh, and it has memorable lines like "you spoony bard!"
Thus far, for me, 'Xenogears' is Square's greatest achievement.
Which is saying something as they've consistently made excellent titles,
including the 'Final Fantasy' and 'Chrono' franchises which are well-renowned
for a reason.

As for storyline I'd say Star Ocean or Chrono Cross
The Final Fantasy Series hands down..
...nothing holds a candle to those.
Nothing.
I'd say FF7 Is my fav out of all of the squaresoft games... though I still haven't completely finished it (last boss battle)
