I have some questions, and I am hoping to get some answers here (if that's cool with everybody).

In the past I have deleted any Megatokyo/Fredart images/wallpapers uploaded because of two phrases on fredart that suggest he doesn't want his work posted anyplace:

Now the question: I heard that in the forums somewhere Fred said wallpapers are okay to make. If someone can make a post here telling me what forum and topic and quoting the exact text from Fred, I will let Megatokyo walls remain alive and I will make an anime catagory for it. Would someone please do that for me?

I e-mailed Fredd to ask permission and I asked him on go-gaia.
Any of his art shall not be used for wallpapers. He asked me not
to use it. But I guess I am too Greek to listen what other people say...

I take it the walls will be removed then? What about doujins of the characters?

I personally don't have a problem with fanart because hey, it's not his art.

Honestly wouldn't have thought he'd mind if the correct credit was given, but it's his work and he decides.

That is generally the case with everything zou find online with a few exceptions. Roughly 99% of this website is actually in violation.

Fred is fine with people making fanart. . . it's just that he doesn't want people to use his own artwork.

i requested permission from fred many times.. before i tried to colour his hand drawn sketches.. but he never replied.. i was so pissd off

There you go. A lot of people are mailing him, too many, I think, that only a few actually get a proper "No", like ShueiTenshi here. I guess this is a case where silence means "no".

Hmm. I think if its vectored fanart it's okay but not vectoring one of his panels/sketches/etc. Make sense?
