It depends on which singers you like better.

Seriously, if a singer (whether jap or otherwise) is good, the singer is good. The reverse applies too. It's too much of a generalisation/stereotyping that singers from this country are better than those from that country, and vice versa.

I prefer American music. Japanese is fine but since I don't understand everythings it's hard to sing it xD Some songs are nice but still I like american and european (epecially from UK).

Both! There is good american music and good japanese music, likewise there is some terrible japanese music and some terrible american music lol

The Pillows are similar to the Beatles, in musical, concept, and Vocal presentation. if you like a cetain song from anime or j-pop, but cann't find the lyrics. check out animelyrics.com. but japanese music is very different from american, theirs is more meaningfull. check out the translation to one life from the pillows.

Eh...depends on the band. Some Japanese singers really, really suck. Someone said The Pillows up there...I disagree. He can't sing too well, imo.

Some of the jpops are way better than most music here. But sometimes talent isn't the most important thing. Nirvana, anyone?

I prefer neither. All the music I listen to is either (North) American, European, Australian or Japanese, with most of it not being by the last one. I dont care where it comes from, just as long as I think it sounds good (but English lyric I can understand is always good too ;-).

Depends, for some music I prefer Japanese and then others I prefer American. (my metal is always going to forever be American, unless you can pursuade me to go to Japanese).

Japanese music is good, but I think that I still have to say that I like American music more. There seem to be more variety in content and music styles in American than Japanese music.

I like Japanese music a lot, but i still listen to some american music. overall, i'd say that Japanese singers might be better than american singers because they pronounce the words better.

I prefer music i can understand the words to. And american music is really good anyway. I love the 80's and Im fond of trance music.
