Hey everyone- I looked under 'review' for this subject and nothing came up, but
I was wondering if there was any possible way to add images to a review? such as
screen shots, header for the series etc to show the members reading the review
that didn't know the series/etc...
I searched many reviews too and noticed none have images, does anyone else think
that allowing images would be a good option for a review? obviously we want to
emphasize the written aspect, but I think the review section is currently a
little 'plain' at the moment because of it. Whenever I read reviews online I
lean towards the reviews with images and screen shots of the anime so my visual
self can fully take in the review...
Not only would it be more visually appealing, it would bring more people to read
them, I think...
hmm interesting topic , yap i am sure it will attract more users but the thing
which is of issue is that the page would properly take much much longer to load
up . other than that i am sure it would be good to consider.
Your idea is good but I'll say no becuase as far as I know MT's servers are
having quite some trouble lately and loading them even with those images would
surely make things harder for the system admins. I would suggest requesting that
kind of feature (images inside reviews) during a better moment.
shinn- oh quite true- i definately agree on that! MT is under major repair and
this thread isn't made to demand immediate attention to the matter I just
thought mentioning it now and discussing it will allow us to easily access the
situation for possibly MT version 3 or the later future
I think that this would be a good idea for the third version of Minitokyo. Right
now, though, version 2 doesn't have as much features as we wish it could have,
but it's going to take more coding to actually make things work. Right now,
though, as shinn mentioned, the server still needs maintenance as there have
been quite a bit of problems lately.
What if the review was linked to the top 3 or so submissions (and/or scans) for
the category (series) it was reviewing? That way the server load would remain
similar as there wouldn't be any NEW images to upload but you could get an idea
of the art from the series as well.

That would be a good idea. Kinda like the top 3 submissions that we get to see
on the right coloumn when we're looking at someone's submission.

yes that would be a great idea that way,
no one could 'accidently' post images of hentai nature, sicne they are already
submissions on MT good idea

I don't know. Since I have a web domain now... I think if the reviewer wants to
use images, they should be directly loaded from their own servers, freeing up
MT's servers. Of course, tama's idea is ok, but what if the selected images are
not what the reviewer thinks of when they think of the series.
Just allow the tunes. I mean, if people want to use this stuff, let'em. It's not
like they can use hentai so I think in that way, this is ok. Plus, it makes it
more fun for people. Also, if they can use pictures from their 'My Pictures'
folder, than they can use images that were too small to put up on MT. It'll make
it more fun because everyone can see what kind of pictures they got and some of
the "too small" pictures, just might be pretty good. I found some
really good Full Metal Alchemist pictures on some sites and they look pretty
good. If you can use these pictures maybe someone can download them, then
someone else maybe able to work on them and then maybe re-post them on here as
downloadable wallies. So, I think this is a VERY good idea.
^ 'Slong as proper credits are given. But it would be better if we just have
screenshots for the reviews. Can't really judge the series' quality by looking
at an already modified piece, yeah?
Oi, if this idea (wonderful idea, BTW) catches on and if ever admin allows
pictures from outside te Gallery, I feel that the screenshots/images must
maintain a certain level of quality, like the scans and wallies here in MT.

That would just take the attention away from the review.
i believe that reviews do allow html so images can be used, but it is really
difficult to code if you can't preview what you've done. So maybe a system can
be made to preview the written review.
great ideas guys! and I agree with Sheqel and Revue- screenshots are the best
option, so the reader can witness the actual anime/game in question compared to
edited and visualy enhanced walls
I think a header would be nice... possibly one image of a screenshot - its nice
to be able to see a screenie now and again, but not flooded with them :P
yeah i totally support this idea. its better since we cant picture some of the
images and we are not that frequently using visuals in our review. reviews
sometimes are quite a bore but hving those pictures would definitely look
lively.

There are often sprites that you can use as well, I think it would be a fantastic idea!
I think a header would be nice... possibly one image of a screenshot - its nice to be able to see a screenie now and again, but not flooded with them :P
