Photoplus 6 isn't bad. It's free-serif software. Not as good as photoshop, but nonetheless halfways decent. I just wish they had more filters and brushes.

the best programe is photoshop and if wait a few days there will be the new virsion of the photoshop soo i think it's better to wait..........

I think the best program is photoshop but why don't you try the gimp(gimp.org) terragen(planetside.co.uk) or photoplus? It's free and you can get good results with it.

There is Paint.net which was created by some uni students and is totally free and you can work with layers as well, i have d/l but not really used it yet and you gotta have some framework crap which was 20mb to d/l ^_^;; but if your pretty much up to date with stuff on your computer i guess you dont have to worry abou tthat. Paint.net is only a couple mb to d/l. i dont have link but im sure google can help

Photoshop 6 is a nice program to start with

PS CS2 is a good graphic program

The software is free. It's not as powerful as Maya in the rendering department, but the controls are easier to master. Blender has some neat features like the ability to create human models with a preset tool.

Well you could use..
1. gimp
2. microsoft photoeditor(i think its called that)
3. photoplus

But i hear gimp is good cause its like photoshop and paintshop pro
