If you know that other members who are not in the group may vote in your thread, I wouldn't recommend creating the thread. Instead, I would recommend that you make the poll in the group customization and you can tally up everything that the group members say. However, that would require frequent checks on the group if you do consider my idea. I'm not a member of the group, so I will not vote, and I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

This would work better if you simply posted this in your group userpage and had people PM you with their responses; there is no way for you to restrict forum participants to a particular group, nor should you be able to do so.
