I can't remeber akira being that violent, was along time since I was it but

Elfen Lied has it's violent and gored times and the story is really
good.

surpases that of Akira if akiras violence and gore is high, the anime

It's one of my favorite animes, only four eps released until now but it totaly

Hm... I think Fist of the North Star was pretty gory... what with the exploding
heads and all. Elfin Lied was pretty bloody, but not gory as such... Hm...
Ninja Scroll and Ninja Resurrection was really violent. Good, though. LOL
I have 2 say eva man espically the last 4-5episodes like the street was filled
with blood waste high I MEAN DAMN plus those giant robots even spill blood

think I had a sequel to it somewhere... hm.
Fullmetal Alchemist - one of the most violent anime I've ever seen. I mean,
really, those two children (yeah, I know it's impossible to say tat Ed in fact
is a child) suffer so much... and the way animators try to emphasize that some
of the parts of Ed's body are metal - terrible. I am really afraid of that
anime.
Kenshin's first OVA - one of the spookiest things I've ever seen.
Peacemaker Kurogane - again, anime about moral suffering. And you can't see a
lot of blood during the series. It always amazed me how talented people can
recreate the violent atmosphere without spilling liters of red paint.
I think Elfen Lied is the most violent, gore anime I've seen yet. Yet, good story line.

i agree, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan is funny and very gory. The guy spews more blood out than wat the body really has.

The most violent, gore anime series i've ever seen, would have to be "Berserk!" Talk about gore every 5 minutes...that anime is crazy, but very good!
Gantz has some pretty graffic scenes in it. but i like episode 3 and 4 from elfin lied

The Urotsukidouji-remakes, at least they are the most disgusting anime/hentai I've ever seens.
Manga are often more brutal than anime, the Koroshiya-manga is more violent than any anime I've seen so far.
