The only package I saw that imports AVI files is the Gif Animator shown in my
previous post. I assume that the reason most people want this is to display a
moving avatar or sig. Give it a shot, since it's free for a trial package and
only $34 thereafter.
Adobe ImageReady works.
just open up the file then select the frame u want captured and click on the
[switch to Adobe PS" sign [it's at the very bottom i believe] n' when u
got the pic in PS just go to file-save and change the file format to
.gif
Haow ca n I capture some part of animate clip to Gif , so I can use this GIF to be my Avartar.

When you want to capture pics from a video, try Quick Time Player...it might work with this...
