You know, remember when you've watched an anime series that was in full
japanese, and you were reading the subtitles? Then about a year later, it is
released in America.... but it is almost always never the same as when you
originally saw it?
I remember seeing Shura no Toki when it was released at blockbuster. Horrible.
The main character sounded like he was getting laid, and I don't feel like going
through the rest of the cast, they just plain sucked. I was pissed when I
couldn't revert the language back to Japanese, stupid license companies....

I got no problem with the english voices.
ONLY jap voices with subs, the neglish actors always sucks, I hate it.
The most irritating thing is that all ogm files have english audio as default
and that suuuuucks since you die everytime you change episode

Nope, english seems to go just fine (subtitles annoy me cause they take away
from the movie. I always have to keep up with the subs to understand what's
going on, then I miss out on the visual action)
But it's totally weird when you watch anime/manga dubbed in Dutch!
I prefer to hear the English voices, even if they are bad. But sometimes it
actually brings flavor to the character though (e.g Scherrice from Scryed).
I prefer the Japanese over English I dn't miss much visuals coz I can read
damned fast and have watched so much anime that reading subs makes not
difference. The english voice cast usually is really horrible I hate the only
okey-ish dub was Spirited Away & Evangelion. Shinji voice in Jap sounds like
a girl.

I watched 3x3 eyes dubbed in Dutch dont' understand Dutch that well but most I
understood coz I speak Afrikaans.
I prefer to spare myself the pain and sufferring of hearing english dubs

I think that the german dubb of escaflowne is the only one that can actually
compete with the original. The germans really did a hell of a job there ^_^.

I only dislike a handful of them, like Sanji's voice actor in the dubbed version
of One Piece. But I like listening to the English voices because I don't
understand Japanese, sooo...
I personally can't stand the dubbed version especially after watching the subbed
version. An anime that really killed it for me was One Piece in english. That
was so bad that... it was jsut horrible. I'm actually a little luckier since
I've taken Japanese and can understnad some of it. You're really missing out on
a lot of jokes when you watch it in English. They also change things around and
word them strangely. Oh well, just my opinion
I refuse to watch dubs. The three main reason they suck are: producers choose
inappropriately age voice actors, use lack-luster simplified translations, and
don't suit the words/voices to the actual scenes.
I'm fine with the english voices. I just got mad in Full metal alchemist because
the voice actor's crying seemed forced, and didn't flow like Paku Romi's did.
*twitch* if you ever want to know just how horrible english versions can be,
just take a look at Sailor Moon, kay? sure, Mars and Jupiter have great voices
(most of the time) but the rest... not only that, but the voices change
constantly!!!
err... but before this turns into a rant, i'll get back on topic... i generally

that way i see everything the subtitles would have covered... besides,
dialogue, etc tends to change from the original to the dub (and sometimes the
mood of the scene, but that's just if you have a horrible dub job... another
rant waiting to happen...) so it's almost like watching a totally different show

liked in english were Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, Blue Gender, The various Tenchi
Muyo series except GXP :cringes at the thought:, and Cowboy Bebop. Those are the
only series that I watch in english

notice the difference, I prefer dub out of sheer laziness. THat extra brain cell

who THEY seem to be, so why should they in anime?
I don't think it's the voices probelm. I think it's their enthusiasm and how the
creators tried to translate Japanese expressions into english. Another
explaination is that you are more used to the japanese and you are expecting to
hear japanese. The only anime I've like in englsih is Inuyasha. I despise the
japanese version because I saw the english one first. Other people who saw
Japanese first, then englsih, will think englsih is weird....i dunno, just my
opinion.

Fullmetal Alchemist is alright, it could be better though. I've seen worse. Try
Inu Yasha, or other anime's on Adult Swim. Not too good. We won't talk about
the voice actors for DBZ, though... (Though, Trunks for DBZ Cell Saga was pretty
good when compared to the rest of the voices..)
Haruko's American Voice actor has to be the best, though. She sounds JUST like
the Japanese one, I think. Two thumbs up.

Well US dub actors don't get paid as much as Japanese seiyuus, so the quality is not there. Heck in Japan Seiyuus are practically celebrities.
So I prefer Japanese with english subs more than anything. Although, there are a couple of good American dubbers in the market.
For me, it's only like that in most cases. In some cases I actually prefer the english voices over the Japanese ones.
