Heard bout dis anime and saw it once, it was pretty funny. My friends told me it
was a pretty cool anime series. Hope I could watch the series 'coz they don't
have here in US as well as manga. (",)

the freaking Shohoku vs Kainan game! For gods sake!!!! That sucked! I

rocks especially when Sakuragi got his first jump shot on a
game!

Miuradai match.... now that is true sportsmanship.
Also there's the incident when Uozumi swatted him away during a dunk... he was
totally pissed...
Then there's the last episode of the anime: "Glory of Slam Dunk"..
best ep evah... Sakuragi ran across the court and dunked it home.... I could've
sworn he dunked from the free-throw line...

Yes, that was something else! The time he dunked on Hanagatas head, when Shohoku
played against Shoyo, was also cool...
Tensai Skuragi is one of a kind!! The first time he played against Akagi was
hilarious!! I laught so bad!! He actually pushed down Akagis pants

If you want to know what NBA series that Slam Dunk is emulating, it's the 1991
Playoffs. Although this time, they made Shohoku lose despite the fact that
Chicago won that series.
btw, notice that instead of Adidas, Mitsui's bandana says "Adadis".
Another spoof is with the Bulls, that is spelled "Bolls" in the
anime.
And if you notice in the anime's opening, Akira Sendoh did a Windmill ala
Dominique Wilkins though it was shown half-way. Rukawa did a Tomahawk jam from a
lob-pass from Miyagi.
And I'm definitely sure Sakuragi dunked from the free-throw line in the op,
too.
