yea dude, i've been trying to figure out the same thing for a long time. the
funny thing is that they wear the same thing even after multiple destructions of
their clothing. I mean serisouly, how can so and so wear the same thing after
getting it incinerated by some dude.
actually i know a few animes that switch them after an occasion. In rave groove
adventure, everybody changes their clothes after a while. In naurto, everybody
has a slight modification to their clothes after a three year training period.
I'm guessing anime changes their clothes occasionally.
They probably do it because it's easier to animate and design, and because it's
easier to recognize characters if they always wear the same outfits.
i can think of only a couple series where they change clothes all the time:
Kaikan Phrase - they do wear their "standard" clothes alot, but they
also change costumes at least once per episode, too.
City Hunter - The guys always wear the same clothes, but the women are always
changing, especially Kaori.
I think that sakura from CCS was one of those rare anime characters that actually wore sth different every episode (while catching clow cards)...

this way it makes the characters more reconizible n' they don't have to spend a long time trying to figure out a new outfit
