I was just wondering if it's hard to learn Japanese?? you know ... like reading, writing, and speaking it ... well not really the speaking part ... that part sounds the easiest but the reading and writing part?? I wonder if you can teach yourself Japanese too?? ... XD Comments anyone?? Please post! XD

i really really want to learn japanese too!!!but i heard it was extremely hard with all the verbs and stuff XP

you have to memorise a lot of kanji... that's the hard part imo :/

wow dang!! ahaha my school used to have it but not anymore!! it was WAY before i got there though!! i was so bumed out!! =(

actually, japanese is not that diffcult to learn. i taking japanese in my school. as for kanji, it's not a problem to me cos i can write n read chinese pretty well.

n again, Lolz u posted it on the wrong section... =/

yea i know!! wasn't really paying attention to what i was doing at the moment!! ahaha lol!! well i'm not chinese so it might be a little harder for me to learn kanji but i'm good a memorization ... that's what my french teacher told me ... XD and yea i don't think it's all that hard ... right? XD

I'm teaching myself Japanese in my free time, self-study books from the library's what I use. Speaking might not be very hard, but reading and writing is. I can't read much kanji, but I taught myself how to read hiragana and katakana. It's funny because I don't know much vocabulary in Japanese but I can read hiragana and katakana, it's like knowing the letters of the alphabet but not the words. :D
I'm Chinese so I know some kanji characters, but I never finished learning to write in China since I moved to America, so the only kanji I know are simple ones taught in first and second grade. Right now, I'm just trying to learn how to speak Japanese before I start on kanji.

wow!! i should do that!! never really thought about it!! =D ... like i said => i'm not chinese ... but you can say i'm pretty close!! just don't know any kanji or hiragana or katakana ... self taught ... *needs a breather* ... XD ... gottah start!!

hehe... i did that 2 years ago i began to learn hiragana and katakana by melself then i learnt some kanjis :) you can find some pretty good website on internet to help you learning japanese :) i mean vocabulary, grammar, and the most useful kanjis... ^^

Yeah, learning Japanese is hard. I took 4 years of Japanes in my High School. At most I could only understand some parts of Japanese dialogue. Kanji will probably be the hardest to read and write except if you read and write Chinese.

The only fast way to learn Japanese is to speak with a Japanese speaking person everyday as it hones your listening, speaking and understanding skills.

Well, I'm off to play~

i want to learn Japanese :( i was born in the U.S. i nevered learned how to write chinese. ahhhhh. but i can speak Cantonese but not a lot.

To learn Japanese is like learning two languages. Chinese and Japanese since Japanese uses both kanji and hirigana.

Speaking isn't as hard but if your not asian then it is difficult to develop an asian tongue.

If you really wish to learn I suggest you practice everyday and really work at it. The best way to learn it is actually living in Japan. That way your force to use it everyday.

wow!! well i am asian so i already have the asian tongue!! that's a start rite!! plus i probably watch too much anime so i pick up bits and pieces i guess!! going to japan to use it ... out of my options ... speaking with a japanese person everyday ... maybe?? theres this japanese girl at my high school but she usually just speaks english to everyone so it would be weird to start using japanese ... hmmm .... i need like a tutor or something!! ahaha XD

oi oi i'm learning japenese by myself right now with a great book (it's in french though) and it's not that complicated...you can do it by you know you have to impose yourself some restrictions like learn a bit everyday and memorize some hiraganas by practicing them...i'm sure YOU can do it haha everyone can....

thanks for the encouragement dragonbard!! hopefully i can also find me a book to learn from ... still searching!! XD

i wanted to learn japanese too ><;; but my school never had that language to learn n i thought they had b4 i went there ><;; so yeah i was disappointed ... but oh wellz~

but i think you can learn it yourself if u actually put urself into it, i mean to actually put the effort in to learn it, then im sure you would be able to learn it ... ^^;;

Once you get the Kanji/Hirgana/Katakana right everything should be easy, the sentence is much more simpler than other languages.

a hint in learning Hiragana/katakana is to overcome the urge to use romanji in remembering how to spell words, trust me it'll be much easier in the long term.

hmmm... it's not that hard for me to learn it... i really wanted to learn so i studied japanese by myself... i foundi it rather amusing and i felt that i used my time well... XD

Well, it's hard but if you just concentrate on that, you might learn some basics in no time. ^_^

I study Japanese now and ...
it's hard to explain
i can read but it take a long time.
i u wanna learn u must practice it every day or week.
the 'Kanji' are harddddd * *
u must remember in ur head and ... ewwwww > <
it made me mad~

Quote by Itami-Chani really really want to learn japanese too!!!but i heard it was extremely hard with all the verbs and stuff XP

i heard it too

and i got a cousin who nows japanese i envy him he's lucky

ahaha!! i guess i should start then huh?? XD

I think that Japanese is one of the hardest languages I've ever spent time learning. The Kanji is really a hard part since there are so many to memorize. Still.. its really rewarding if you put effort into it. I was never the best in class.. but I still enjoyed it and wish I could have done better.

That would be cool to learn Japanese, If you find anything Please tell!
