Your interpretation is correct. The deliberate wording was intended to prevent the 'correct' e-mail address from being picked up by on-line scanners (used by spammers to add more victims).

when you look at the emails on display here on MT, follow these simple reminders:

1. "at" = @
2. "dot" = .

Then put everything together and you have the correct email address.
