I'm sorry, but much as I like heise, I'm voting for anime. I think anime style works better on fabrics. Now if you're primarily interested in tech/web-based products, then I'm ok either way.

As for tiki's question, I think after we decide on the artist we'll decide on the actual image, which would probably be very suitable to all.

i really like the works by satomi-chan. It seems both the normal anime & chibi character styles would be perfect for Minitokyo if they were variations of one particular person/thing that would be used for the mascot.

haha, this will be a hotly contested election, pardon the pun.

I also like heise's style, maybe because the cg is really amazing but the anime style is really good too though the colouring is really too solid. Thinking about it, when it comes down to chibi, I think anime style is the way to go. It would be cool to see heise colouring style though...Chibi all the way with heise colouring style and anime look!

Personally, I find the heise style to be much more artistic and well stylish. If you were to choose the anime style, it should be a much more detailed mascot then what you see regularily throughout anime. The small details is what would distinguish the mascot apart from other anime mascots across the net and would give it more flare. So either style is fine, as long as it is detailed ... but I'm leaning more towards the heise style.

Also, I feel that having both a female and a male mascot would benefit the community a lot. They would be a "pair", not necessarily a couple, but a paired up mascot. You could use them both individually or together to represent Minitokyo. Having both genders would also contribute to a non biased gender base and appeal to both sides. It would also give more flexibility in choices for products ... but of course make more work for whoever is designing them .
