i've been wondering about this a lot and it doesn't make sense to me as to why
ppl "need" makeup. it's not like makeup really makes a person prettier
and i think that its just a waste of time cause and money it doesn't change your
attitude or anything. so what is the point of makeup?
girls are usually more self conscious than boys... i think Ino from Naruto is a
good example. they want to make sure that they look 'pretty' cuz they dont think
they can do it by themselves. i happen to agree with you, i like girls to be
rather plain in appearance. so i guess that it makes them think that they look
better with it on. maybe it has to do with low self esteem or something.
do you really think so? It may be true for younger girls (until middle school or
maybe even early high school), but at a certain point, makeup becomes
necessary.. not only to beautify her, but to prevent accelerated aging (of
course, proper makeup application, quality products etc are important). For
example, certain women with an excess amount of oil production from their face
need to use powder to prevent their pores from stretching out and causing early
wrinkles. And I have to disagree on the point about makeup not making a girl any
prettier.. I've seen people who are completely different from when they have
makeup on, and when they're in their 'natural' state. It does seem to have
something to do with self-esteem and confidence, but some people do need them.

But I'm bewildered these days by middle school girls who feel the need to paint
themselves with makeup (not to mention how untastefully they often do it).
They're still beautiful without makeup at that age..
well i personally dont like wearing make up, it makes my face heavy and couldnt
breath..
I only wear light make up on special occasion like light powder and light
eyeshadow..
No one needs it. It's just a point of not being seen for who you are -- a mask.
I used to wear it but it was a task that I've come to abhor. It also messes with
my skin type.

i know a girl in my class that put tons of make-up on, she looks more like a "plastic" imo
make up make it look more hot so guyz would wan to go to bed wif the girl
Makeup = covering up aging, enhance one's look and just for the sake of looking like a damn barbie doll.

I am a girl..and the only make up i wear is lipgloss..
what about for important functions and stuff? they use makeup to look more professional
to gain self-confidence? It is just a necessity for some of the girls
