In general, I prefer subs. But if I happen to see the dub of an amime first (on
TV for example), I usually prefer the dub for that particular anime, as that is
what am used to.
Subs. Mainly because you can probably learn a little Japanese by just watching.
In addition to that, sometimes, the dubbing can differ from that they mean to
say in Japanese.
Subs.... dunno why but dub make me feel weird when I am watching the film moreover if I already used to listen Jap voice a lot only some film that I did watch in dub like Trigun
i HATE english dub too! i prefer subtitles BY FAR! sorry but i just dont see
hwat's so good about dubs... they totally ruin the character and the anime...
especially english dubs... chinese dubs i know arent as bad... not sure about
others but... >__<;; i hate dubs soooo much!
Well, for someone who does not speak Japanese (like me), I think dubs are easier
on the ears, but anyone fluent in Japanese or hate the dubs or love the original
that much.............then subs.
But for me, I like dubs, even if they do get annoying sometimes. But hey, that's
just my opinion!
I like both. Sometimes I prefer the english over the japanese, and sometimes the
japanese over the english. It depends on the character I' m looking at. The
voice of the character may be better when the english or japanese actor does it
right accordingly to how I feel the character should be.
For me I watch mainly in english dub then watch it in japanese with
subtitles.
There are many talented voice actors out there who do many great voices in
anime. Here are a few examples:
1. Bridget Hoffman aka Ellen Arden - voice for Kazami Mizuho, Belldandy in AMG
Movie, Maehara Shinobu in LH, Melfina in Outlaw Star.
2. Juliet Cesario - voice for Belldandy in AMG OVA, Kobayakawa Miyuki in You're
Under Arrest.
My favorites seiyuu in anime are Inoue Kikuko and Horie Yui.
I prefer a choice of either. Some English dubs can be expertly done (Hellsing,
ADV's Spriggan, and Princess Monoke for instance). And likewise, some subs can
be horribly bad...
I like having the choice, but more often than not I just go with the subtitles.
It seems like the english voice actors are trying way to hard most of the time,
like they're just seeing it as a cartoon. It some some really skilled VA's to
make it work.
if possible, both. if not, eng dub

really depends on the english dubs, but the subtitles can be very inaccurate at times which is very annoying.

Why can't the TV make subtitles for Anime ?
i think it's least budget than the DUB version......

english dub
Subtitle is more interesting : an anime in original version with traduction.
Subtitle for Global Understanding while still preserve the original Voice!
