Just want to tell you that we have three series of Slayers [if you don't
know]:
1. Slayers
2. Slayers Next
3. Slayers Try ^^
Lina and Zel have no chemistry wheras Lina and Gourry have it written all over
them (although it's most apparent in Slayers Next, the ending especially - if
you don't see it you're blind and have the IQ of a frozen pizza). The writers
also make the absence of chemistry between Lina and Zel blatantly obvious in an
ep in Slayers Try when they have to pair-off lottery style to go into a temple
and Lina ends up with Zel and Amelia with Gourry. All they do is discuss
tactics as if they're in a committee meeting, and all Amelia does is complain
about being stuck with Gourry instead of Zel. Gourry doesn't even need to be
told the tactical setup if Lina's involved - he's not a bright bulb but he can
tell what Lina's planning without her having to tell him if it involves fighting
tactics. Also, Zel and Amelia work better together than Zel and Lina; Zel and
Amelia often cast spells in tandem, particularly Ra Tilt.
It's more apparant in the novels, as the story is very clearly about Lina and
Gourry. Zel is practically an incidental character in those, not appearing in
all that much of the story, as is Amelia.
I saw all episodes...No! I am wrong! I never saw the final of the last episode.
I like the anime a lot, and I love the couple Lina/Gourry... So, now,
my father is download "Slayers" for me. I am really happy. XP

I definitely recommend the anime. I personally prefer the Slayers dub over the
sub because it sounds so much funnier in english! I find it harder to laugh at
when watching it in japanese, and darn it, this is a series that deserves
laughter!
i do believe Funimation got the rights to rerelease the series and plans to
re-dub a few parts to maintain the original japanese text a BIT more...
Personally I think changing how they called "Mazoku"
"Monsters" or "Monster Race" is the most prominent thing
they might change since it doesn't really distinguish them much from any regular
monster much. And they may also go for actor consistency... I so hope they do
and re-dub the first 4 volumes with Veronica Taylor as Amelia and Crispin
Freeman as Zelgadis. The first Amelia dub voice is SO annoying... and Crispin
Freeman rules. Plus they continue to play those characters for the rest of the
series (all 20 volumes after) AND the movie. I look forward to Funimation's
re-release if they're really going to do the changes I hope for~ (If they call
the Mazoku their proper name of Mazoku in the rerelease, I'll adore
it~)
And I think I'm ranting...
Well anyway, Slayers is an all-rime favorite of mine.
Definitely Lina/Gourry Amelia/Zelgadis. Yep I have the 3 series and a movie
special Premium, It's especially clear in the later series. In the movie
special Lina and Gourry are travelling together and later on Zelgadis and Amelia
arrive together. Slayer is such a crack up! And I won't cry that I couldn't get the
Motion Picture (they'd sold out and it hasn't been released again) You'll
definitely enjoy the series more after episode 15
Well tishdon, I think you've seen the only movie that takes place after the TV
series begins... the rest of the movies and the OAVs are set before - where Lina
is partnered with Naaga - who does make a tiny cameo in volume 5 of season 1 -
well... all you see are her breasts bouncing by the screen, really...

Yeah, Zel/Amelia and Lina/Gourry are the main couples, though that doesn't stop other couples from being paired up.
