What is everyone's favorite snack from Japan? Please try to think of something else besides pocky, if possible, as this thread would be boring if everyone replied with "Pocky!". Please also try to explain your snack (taste, look, ect.).

My favorite Japanese snack would have to be Hiroshima momiji manju. They are little maple leaf cake-like snacks filled with pastes of different types. I like the red bean paste one the best. I have a picture of the package at this link :hiroshima momiji manju

Edit: spelling errors, sorry.

I really like Fran Rich Green Tea and Chocolate.
It looks like Pocky, but the is thicker.
The chocolate goes good with the slight grean tea taste.
It is not as overwhelming as Green Tea Pocky, which has no chocolate.

I go to a store called Central Market and I get these little frozen Ice cream balls covered in a sweet pastry. The name escapes me sorry. I also love meat buns.(Is that from China though?) I like Pocky to,sorry.

Hm...i've had no other snack but pocky, but I could tell you my favorite drink! Its called Ramuni (sp?). Its only soda pop but it comes in this cool glass bottle that is sealed up with a glass marble. You have to use a plastic tool that they give you to dislodge the marble from the top of the bottle into a resting place inside. Flavors I've hadso far include Melon (has funny happy face melons on the label) and original, which i think is bubblegum (has funny little kindergarden drawings of two little kids on the label)

Close on the spelling. Ramune is what you meant. It sounds like rah-moo-neh in Japanese. I have currently seen these flavors of Ramune: original, lycee, melon, kiwi, orange, blue hawaii, strawberry, peach, and sweetie (new?). I have tried most of them, and they remind me of something between sprite and vernors with a bit of fruit flavor in each different one. I like this too, and Ramune is quite easy to find in most asian markets, especially if they are larger.

At least i pronounce it right, lol. I got mine in a Suncoast at the mall near my house. They sell all kinds of japanese foods there, snacks really. I would love to try peach, strawberry, and blue hawaii though.

Im sorry, but Pocky really is my favorite. Aside form that however, i like Hello Panda and Yan Yan. Hello Panda is a sort of soft cookie with a filling center. I've only had Chocolate and Strawberry, but im sure there are more flavors. Yan Yan is basicly Pocky that you dip into frosting yourself. I like the chocolate sticks with the vanilla frosting. yummy!

soory, dun have that much access to jp food around here, had to go over to denmark just to get some pocky =(
but, ahwell, even though it aint original, i loooove choko pocky ^^

Okay, if you don't have a favorite that isn't pocky, then you may write pocky. But only if you must, and say what kind of pocky.

My favorite kind of candy it's from Japan, I can't read Japanese, but the wrapper is pink, and the candy itself has a very strong vanilla taste. the brand starts with uha___, that explains a lot, doesn't it? lol the weird thing is I got it at a Korean store.

I really like kaki no tane. they're these little, red, chile shaped crackers. my favorite flavor is the spicy one...I forget what exactly it's called. maybe chile. and I love the Kasugai brand gummies! and of course, Pocky :D

I totally lucked out and my friend brought me back some from a con she went to. It does have a very strong taste and takes some getting used to. Its like the Green Tea Frappachino at Starbucks. Yummy in small doses, icky in gulps.
Theres a store down the street from the mall that sells japanese snacks and stuff. I'll have to go in there and spend some money. They also have the soda that mahkohime was talking about, but they only sell it in crates.
