i was wondering does anyone else have problems with the site being sorta slow? i
compaired it to just other sites in general and minitokyo has slow loading times
yeah the site can load slowly most of the time but does run quite fast at times
as well. it is due the the huge ammount of members on here that have altogether
posted loads of threads, wallpapers, scans and so forth. so it cant be helped
that it lags with so many people posting new topics in the forum uploading new
wallpapers and scans, browsing the forum, wallpaper and scans. it realy cant be
helped oits just such a popular site so there is an overload of people using its
bandwith everyday. but generaly the site is still good at loading
allright thought there might be some reason i over looked ^_^ its not a big deal
the site is great other than that and its not that much lag just a tad
The sheer number of gallery items, forum threads, and members considerably
strain the servers. New members continually join and members submit gallery
items around the clock. It should not come as a surprise then that there will be
times that the server is loaded and response time becomes longer that we'd like.
Please be understanding. A few extra seconds loading a page never kills anyone.
Slow to load? Oh HELL yeah. That's the only reason I haven't been
posting/uploading more often. It takes 10 minutes to get anything done. I
don't suppose that's anyone's fault in particular. It just sucks is all.
Slow, from what I see it has a hard time just loading a page completely in any
sort of reliable manner. If I let it go on the page would be in a half state of
loaded all the time. That can't be helping the server. Not even this page is
fully loaded right now.

but since that downtime last week (or this week?) it really is slow. i mean i
have firefox and the time that takes long is before transferring data, it is
just so long till the server reacts ^^

I agree with ya that this site is kinda slow. i would understand if i have dial
up but i have cable and is still slow. not that i'm downloading anything but
just normal use is long to load. Is there some thing they can do to make the
site load faster because this is the only down side of thie cool site.
If the site ops really wanted to cut down on bandwitdh, they could adjust their
server settings so that my browser dosn't reload every image on every page. I
forget the setting, but it seems like some setting is not correct in the server
config. That's slow reason number 1.
Slow reason number two is that the avatars take a while when there are lots of
posts. When browsing cut down on the number of responses and comments to show on
one page.
Slow reason number three: I wish there was a way to turn off user signatures.
Those images take for EVER to load when some of the users include images in
their signatures and put them on servers overseas. The fact that the size is not
specified and the servers they are on are slow to respond, means a lot of load
time.

for me its fast but it used to be slow.
The site is a little slow for me but it dosen't bother me.
sometimes it's a bit slow but sometimes I see about 700 active users.....
so I wouldn't complain since it's a big site after all isn't it
with dial up it is slow but not so bad i wouldn't want to be here

I opened a page and went down to get s.th. to eat...it took 20 minutes and after I got here again no preview pic was loaded... -.-
well i jus hav a hardtime opening pics...it was slow...now it doesnt load up...i wonder...

Man, I have a cable modem and its really is slow. Either way, I love this site though either way.

Well, I'm a DSL user and I usually end up downloading at less than 8kb/s, which is pretty slow for a connection of my type.
Nevertheless, as long as the pics load I'll be happy.
