Okay, admit it, you've thought of it before, even if you aren't planning to ever have kids.

What would you want to name them?

Kali and Xavier

Woah, weird. What made me think of this topic was this girl who just had a baby and named him Xavier.

lol....thats funny....well if i had a girl i would name her Presea, I got that from a character in the anime rpg game, Tales of Symphonia...i just thought that name would be nice and if i had a boy...ummm...i dont know ^_^'

I always liked the name, and my daughters name is Kali, I agreed cuz of the hindu reference it has. :D

For me...

Adrienne
Kaya
Auyrn
Lea

Jason
Keita

There are just too many I like for names. It will end up being something decided upon when the time comes.

Alexis if its a girl and Alex if its a boy! if I have more....Ill think about it later! it is too soon, but I think thats the way I would name them!

omg! i was just thinking about this! ok... so for girls: Keira, Kagura, Avia, or Isabel. for boys: Kyo or Li. <3

Kalima

Guys:Vincent
Girls: Serenity

That's it for now. Koenken and I have not discussed it yet, as the topic has not arisen.

Girls - Alyssa, Natalie, Sakura (seriously), or Katrina

Boys - Andrew, Nathan or Marcus.

Samantha
Simon
Alexander

If it was a boy- probably Elias. And if it was a girl- I don't know. Of course, I don't plan to have kids.

Laurens and euh, dont know anything for a girl...

something exotic, but not strange

girl: Cally or Zoe or Mitsuki
boy: William or Thomas

Zane for a boy and for a girl Alyna

For a girl, I would like Alyssa, Sophia, Vivian, Sylvia or Cassandra/Cassandria. People say that my kid will get quite bothered at school if she gets that name, and how weird I am. ;__;

For a boy, I would like Juan Luis (I live in a country were spanish is the main language, don't be all wow and stuff =x) or Mark, dunno... haven't thought names for a boy, really. Besides, it's still many years until I have kids.

Boys: Noel and Leon

Girls: Cristina and Minerva

G-kaede(from shuffle) B-kye(donno just made it up)

While the choices for names that you have provided are quite an interesting selection indeed, I think it would be even more interesting to hear your motivations, if you have any, for choosing particular names.

For example, if I were to have children, I would name the first Alexander or Alexandria, for a number of reasons. For one, while creativity is well and good, when it comes to something as important as a name, I feel that something that is more traditional is best. Indeed, I've always found comfort in the tried-and-true.

Why Alexander, and not Thomas, William, Jonathan, or any of a whole host of other names? For one, it's a name with a certain noble quality firmly grounded in western tradition. Besides, it has an obvious nickname, Alex, that can be used in less-formal situations. There are other reasons, of course, but they're too much to go into any detail on this thread, where few will actually read, let alone care, about my thoughts on the matter.

The difficult part is choosing a good Mandarin name. For that, I will most likely have to turn to my parents and grandparents, as I have absolutely no experience in selecting auspicious names in Chinese.

And that, as they say, is that.

lol oh darn, names.... uhhhhhh, ok, i dunno, maybe i'd continue the initials that me and my brothers got, which were aotl... or perhaps i'd create new initials for them...

names for them, how bout harry, abalone, archibald... frank...

out of ideas.. but those were choices i once had... my parents considered those for me (except for frank), so maybe i'll use those :)

Hey, explanations are good... I would read them.

And it would be more interesting to hear more than just a list, so I'll contribute to your trend and explain my own choices.

Adrienne: This is my cousin's name, but really I just love the sound of it. It's just the right level of uncommoness: unique, but not too weird. However, I fear that I will soon be blinded to my liking of this name as my cousin Adrienne grows more beatiful and snobbish... Hopefully it's just a phase. ^^;;
Kaya: It's a Japanese name, but not all too foreign sounding. Though there is a chance of all her teachers pronouncing it "kei - uh" instead of "kai - ah."
Auryn: My reasons for this one are similar to those of choosing "Adrienne." It also has a nice meaning behind it, gold.
Lea: I just love the sound of this name... It's very soft and simple. And I just think it looks better without the "h" at the end.

Jason: My favorite of the "j" names for boys. It has a good, strong sound to it.
Keita: Haha... I had a crush on a guy named Keita... and I've always loved Japanese names.

Notice my descriptions get shorter and shorter as they list progresses... *has a short attention span*

*laughs at self*

I feel like a mom-to-be writing all this. I don't even know if I want to have kids yet!
