I don't think the CDs you are referring to are original (or at least, imported
from Japan). The original CDs cost a fortune each and even more so considering
the average income in Indonesia (gua juga dari indo koq). You are probably
referring to MP3-converted-to-CDs, cloned/pirated CDs or the el-cheapo CDs
coming out from Taiwan/China.
That said, I normally download my anime online and buy the cd/dvd strictly only if I love the show. I have
bought quite a few of them for my collection, though obviously they pale in
comparison to what I have on my HD.

Given the average income of the country, it is wrong to just shout, "buy
original" though. One original CD or DVD (one single disc) can easily cost
half- to one-month worth of salary. It is bloody ridiculous and, ironically,
piracy is allowing many people to afford access to anime. Without piracy, anime
will strictly only be for the rich - a small percentage of the
population.
It is not a dark secret as much as it is a necessary evil in a poor developing
country with anime-loving population.
ok,i admit it, now i'm dl them,but like i said a 100 times before:i i had where
to buy them from,i would shurely do that(i'm still searching for Kenshin in
every store...)! but you can't find anything in my country (romania) ,
especially anime/manga! but at least my network connection works pretty good...

i download them usually because i have wireless lan and adsl so no prob and if
my dad is out of the country which he usually is i leave my computer on non-stop
for like a couple weeks i was able to download the whole gundam seed destiny
series in one month. where i live you cant get them at all period and plus
everything illegal is ok here people sell vcds of movies and sell music cds that
they downloaded and burned themselves fake games especially for ps2 which rocks
i can get a game for $3(equivalent) and shops selling this stuff are everywhere
so i dont think they will come knocking on my door sending me to jail anytime
soon and the funny thing is that cops go to these shops too.

I accually like dubs they have come along way since the old Speed Racer type dubs

What are the good online shops that sell anime soundtracks? If you buy or have bought online, where do you usually get them from?

I download anime until it gets liscensed down here. At that point I just buy it.
