Can anyone recommend some really good Cantonese (and cantonese only please)
groups, female or male artists, because i want to buy a cd so that i can learn
more cantonese by listening. Any recommendations? Songs to go with the artist
will help a lot.
erm..i am not sure abt canton artist tho..
but try under TVB
they got alot of singers there..
arron kwok will be one and hacken lee..there are alot of them..><"
Quote by BabyXGurLXbABYwell..some
actors can sing to..like those in tvb whom sang those opening songs for the
series =\
its realli depends on which one she wants.. - -
yea ur rite......I mean nearly every actor/actress can sing......or if they're
singers they start acting (eg. twins, cookies, boy'z, edwin, eason)
They also forgot to mention Joey Yung one of the most popular singers at the
moment I highly recommend her bi heart album. Eason chen, bobo chan, yumiko
cheng, Wilfred lau, leo ku, and if you can find her songs bondy chiu
maybe jay chou could help u to make ur listening to cantonese better...try avoid
those rock and hip hop u wun undersatnd...wat was jackie chan's son name? maybe
he can help too...wish u good luck ...
I guess you can give the 4 heavenly kings a go, but I personally prefer Jacky
Cheong amongst the rest. As for group, I will recommend Beyond, however since
the death of the lead singer, the songs are not as good already.
I'm not sure if this will help or not, but there is an Chinese, or
Cantonese musician out there called Orchid. In her second CD, she does do some
singing, but mostly she does some very well scored instrumentals.
With all this j-pop, rap, rock, etc.---it was really hard for me to find some
sources for Cantonese/Chinese songs...thank you, people! ^-^ And I thank Sizza
for asking as well. Unfortunately, I've nothing to really contribute (some of
the ones I know were already mentioned above). I know my aunt and mom probably
know, but it's far too awkward ^-^"
Not sure what type of music you like so try http://wer.hk-mtv.com/ as they have the latest
music from chinese artists. Some are cantonese and others are mandarin. Also you
will need bittorrent program to download them. They can be found through google
search. Hope this helps

I would recommend artists such as Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai, Andy Lau, Joey Yung
plus many others but also check out www.yesasia.com and read peoples comments as
that might help you decide who you like to listen to. As mentioned in my
previous post you should be able to find some songs to your liking. Hope you
find the artists you like to listen to. I usually listen to Nicholas Tse who
does tend to do alot of rock songs and Edison Chen who tends to do hip hop/rap
type of music which may not be suitable for you.
Well to tell the truth it's kind of hard learning Cantonese from music because
in my view sometimes it's very hard to hear what they are singing
I would rather watch lots of tapes with subtitles of dramas instead...
But I spose:
Hakkan Lee (is that Hackan or Hakkan? Whatever), Leo Koo, Louis Koo, Sammy, Fei
Wong, TWINS... there are many many. It really doesn't matter at the
end.
Oh yes and Gigi Leung - my friend loves her.
If you choose to listen to music to learn Cantonese then you'll have to listen
to LOTS O_O But those are just a few
there are a lot of cantonese artist it just depends on your preference...i like
miraim yeung and andy lau's music along with some other ones...just started
listening to janice wai
