Is it just me, or do sometimes they drag anime or manga too long?
A prime example is Hunter X Hunter.
When I first started reading Hunter X Hunter, I was suprised at how detailed the
drawings were, and how much thought was put into it. Nowadays. I still read
Hunter X Hunter, but I'm very disappointed. I dont feel that mesmerized by it.
The drawings are very terrible (nothing compared to the mangaka's old drawings,
and he releases a new chapter every 2 weeks or even longer) and the story just
seems to drag on. It seems to me that Hunter X Hunter has lost its meaning for
Gon, which was to find his dad and become a Hunter.
And the series didnt drag on, however it ended to abruptly with no real ending,
and has to be continued through OVAs.
Is it just me who feels that sometimes manga or anime gets dragged on too long?
well, the loss of quality on the newer volumes of HxH are going to be fixed
before each manga volume comes out so if you can't wait for a complete volume
you'll have to stick with the bad "drafts" that the single chapters
consist of.
I hear that the creator of HxH has been sick for some time and that's why the
series is going downhill but I hope it will come up again soon since it's one of
my favorite :d
i canät say that Ithink mangas too foten drag out but
anime series tend to and that is really irritating. I've stopped to watch naruto
because of that for example and that was some time ago. I only read the manga
now and I think it's less trash in it.
Really? I think there's plenty of cases where manga starts to drag. Seems to
be quite common in the ones that have been going on a long time, where the
mangaka loses interest or runs out of creative juice. It becomes nothing more
than cranking out stuff to meet the weekly demand.
And on the flip side of that coin, the only times I really feel that an anime
drags on is when it's tied to a manga that hasn't ended, which forces the anime
creators to slap fillers in abundantly to slow the progression of the storyline.
In most cases, I'd say that animes move along at a good pace. They have a hell
of a more production value go into them than their manga counterparts, so I'd
expect that too =P.
well with Hunter x Hunter the manga artist has been sick. Besides the chapters
are redrawn when the the volumes come out. Also the story is broken in the
arcs. which to me are very good.
And also the tv series did that so they wouldn't have to use constant filler,
which might ruin the series.(Ex. Rurouni Kenshin)
I felt the same as you to toward anime or manga drag long. But at the same time
it make you want to know what going to happen next. Beside if the stroyline is
interesting you don't want to end there. Ex: my favorite show MoB, Sayuki,
Naruto, etc. . Making you question what going to happen next or change. Having
anime or manga long can be worth of waiting and sometime is not. Because it took
too damm long.
yeah, inuyasha is dragging on and on... and there seems to be no end in sight. i
mean 38 [last time i checked] volumes of manga? 167 eps of ANIME? i still watch
the anime, jsut to see what happens to them.. ahh it's been 3 years. i've heard
the same with naruto... the anime goes on for qutie a bit, and then its filler
after filler after filler.

Some of them do, that's why I don't like watching long series (50+ eps).
I stopped watching HxH cause of the dragging,
Also getting sick of Naruto fillers
