meditation relaxes me and centers me. it's my favorite time of the week! i don't think of everything when i meditate. how do u feel about meditating?

i have never meditated in my life.

I didn't practice that yet but was always curious about it, guess I'll have to try soon.

I'm currently in the process of learning how to properly meditate but so for it helping me stay calm and not worry so much.

Humm... could someone explain to me the mind processes necessary to properly meditate?

Is it clear the mind and not think of anything at all while in a comfortable position for an extended amount of time?

I've tried it differently numerous times, but I don't think the desired result occured!!!

well i dont know if i really meditate, but i have my own way to calm down and relax. might be something like meditation but i would also ask for a little explination of what you mean by meditation.

well, what ever I do that I call meditating (I never looked it up in a book or anything)
I just try find a relaxing position to sit in and try to focus/clear my mind.. and that works for me, so yes. it does me good :)

it's a good way to kill time.

well, I guesse some people say that meditation is suppose to make you fell better, but I never tried it, I guesse I will have to try it sometime :D

I'm too hyper to meditate. I wish I could though.

Oh yes it helps me very much. I do it everyday for about 30min it's not very long but it helps me rreflect on the day and the world around me. I find my center and look at where I stand. It's one of the things that keeps me sain lol. I need time to myself so I can like I said see where I stand and lok deep inside my soul for answers to my deepest questions. Great question glad to see that someone meditates lol. (*^_^*)

meditation is for folls

I don't meditate...but I believe closing my eyes and taking deep breaths is maybe a form of meditation when I'm super stressed. That REALLY helps me...a lot.

I don't meditate regularly but, I do meditate and I'm sure all of you have atleast once in your life, cause meditating is just concentrating on one thing and zoning everything else out around you, Example would be when you got reallly bored in school, and you just started staring at your pencil not getting tired just staring and not really thinking of anything just zonning out or something.

I've tried it a couple of times, nice way to relax.

i never tried =P

Meditation? I don`t usually meditate - however I do use some relaxation techniques when I`m too stressed.

I usually settle down in a quiet room, and rub my face with the fingers. A bath does the job too. X3

I assume you mean "fools"? Either way, I beg to differ. Meditation is an exceptional way of centering and bringing together mind, body, soul, and heart. To be able to cleanse yourself of unwanted thoughts for a short (or long) time and focus all your attention to one thing. It could be something simple - To solve a problem with family/friends, what new job to get, what university course to take next... It could be something very complex - How to keep yourself from ever feeling a certain emotion, how to keep your instincts from taking over when otherwise they would, any way of drastically changing your life and existance in one way or another, without the distractions of socialites, sound, homework, your job, your signifigant other, etc.

The average human brain is 5%-7% active at all times. The rest is totally subconsious. While meditating, it is possible to increase that number to above 60%, which is otherwise *never* attainable. Simply put, if you properly meditate; that is, make yourself comfortable and without need of moving for however long it takes; blank your mind except for one thing, and not have that pessimistic attitude about meditation, you become MUCH more intelligent for at least the time you meditate.

Budhist monks believe that fire cleanses the soul. If a monk declares himself in mortal protest of something evil, or violent, that has affected him and his people in some large way, he will set himself on fire. Through meditation, the monk can take almost full control of his consious, subconsious, discreet and subtle functions of the body and simply not feel the terrible pain of burning to death. In this case, he can render his nerves nearly useless, so besides the fact that he set himself on fire, he doesn't even know he is burning.

My advice: Taste before you condemn. That is, don't just get mad at me for disagreeing with you, but seriously try it, just once. Then make the decision for yourself if meditation is for 'folls'. Hopefully you will enjoy it.
