Just curious if there are any other archers out there. I've been shooting a bow
about as long as I've been able to walk. Archery can be seen in a lot of anime,
eg. Kagome in Inuyasha, but I was wandering if there are any actual
practitioners or fans of the sport.
we had to practice archery in PE before, I liked it, not a bad sport. I wasn't
very good at it though, I held the bow the wrong way the very first time I tried
it. I used one finger to hold the bowstring, and the arrow shoot out so weak
that it didn't even land in half way. I remembered there was this kid who
accidentally hit the PE teacher on one of her "cheeks"
I enjoy archery, but I am not that good at it though. I hardly ever get to
practice because of college. You ought to know that better than anyone. You've
seen me shoot.
I do archery sometimes, but I've never taken a class or anything on it, so I'm
not all that good. My dad goes bowhunting, so when I was little he bought me a
little bow and I learned how to shoot. I haven't practiced in a while, so I'm
probably rusty... I've started using guns for target practice instead of a bow.
My fire chief is an archer and bowhunter. I hope to buy a bow sometime soon.
Might be buying one of his older ones. I used to do some archery when I was
younger but never really had a good place to do it back then.
I'm not good at it but I loved it! Also, they always said that guys were better
archery because their arms are straight... and girls have this weird joint...
luckily for me I have straight arms and no weird bends so I did better than many
others who were shooting arrows at the time ^.^
Hahah. Shigh I think I tried it once - and most of my shots were very a bit off.
It`s great fun though, but I`m not very interested in this sort of sport. X3
I've been shooting off and on for 10 years. My only problem now is I've got a
bow that is a little to powerfull. Now if I miss my target the arrow will go
through the fence at 20m.
i have a licence and all this other stuff for it that i got at some course when
i started and wanted to do it, but i kind of gave up, stopped and decided to
stick with basketball and climbing. but its great fun, dont get me wrong on
that!
I do kyudo at my local dojo. I started when I was an exchange student in Tokyo
and then picked it up again when I moved back to Japan. I LOVE it. There is more
to it than just plucking the bow. There is a rhythm pattern, breathing pattern,
and a set form. I will be taking my first test in february. Here is a page to

"Official" archer here. I'm a member of the italian federation of
archery. Just to make it clear, the type of archery that I do is not the
japanese one, but most likely the one that goes to the Olympic games. However,
my favourite type of bow (which is also the one I practice with the most) is the
Compound one, which sadly is not used at Olympics (though there's still a
WorldCup dedicated to it). I think it's the best bow of the three types
(composite, compound, recurve) because it shoots arrows at an insane speed not
to mention you have full control of it while pulling it.

I love it, but I've only been able to do it in gym class back when I was in high school. It would be wonderful to try it again sometime.

I love archery, but I only play it about once every two years at school camps. I guess I'm alright at it (in my class of inexperienced people).
