Just like the name states we have the beauty Shinku resting near the window with
a sereine view of the ocean and sky. This is currently a work in progress but
I'm almost done with so I like to ask the opinions of you guys to see if
anything needs improving/working on.
im kinda torn on this one. the scene looks well constructed but some elements
need some touching up.
1) scan quality is a bit low, cause it looks a bit grainy and blurry. remember,
pick high quality scans when walling or vector trace the LQ ones to clean it
up
2)window frame is a nice idea, but it definitely needs more texture to make it
look wooden. right now its too smooth.
3)the seascape somehow strikes me as almost surrealistic, unless thats what you
were going for oO i seriously feel like im in the twilight zone cause i cant
tell if its sunrise or sunset. usually sunrise or sunset has the sky in shades
of pink, yellows etc. and the sky blue like that looks like a gigantic moon is
rising out of the ocean.
4) the sky is nice but remove the snowflake type stars cause they look a bit
artifical
with a bit of work this could be a nice wall ^___^
the light shading of the scan looks off...a bit too dark
the window looks oversized. The moon looks unnecessary.
uhm..i agree with Kai81220..the stars look very fake...
but overall, i like the composition and see ur effort in it...
you just need to work on it a bit more ^_^ keep it up!~
Hmmm, I love the background idea... however, there are still few stuffs to work
on to make this looks real good ;D
Firstly, quality of scan is not good, it looks blurry, and furthermore, the scan
looks way too dark and the shading on the scan looks kinda off.. you should try
deciding putting a light source in front of her on one side and shaded dark the
other side so that there is still some visible bright side of her and that we
can see her better Oh, and I
guess it is originally from the scan, but her hair outlines look real rough,
maybe you could smoothen or fix that?
I think you did well in drawing the windows and wall
however, they need more texture to make it looks real, cos now they really look
way too smooth and way too 3D-ish compared to the scan.. remember, you need to
balance the quality of picture of the whole wall to make it looks nice and I
know that Shinku is a doll and she is supposed to look small, but I still think
the window is way too big for her maybe
make it smaller just a little bit? Or maybe it is just the style of the window
frame looks weird to me.. (I seriously think it is just too big.. am guessing
you are trying to make window frame that has two compartment to each)
The sea looks fine to me, but when comparing it to the drawing style of the
cloud and the moon, it looks off... so maybe you would wanna filter it so that
they match ^^ and also, the moon is too bright cos the water doesn't sparkle
that much compared to the brightness of the moon XP
Ugh, yeah, get rid of the snowflake stars
The composition here is very nice, but the integration of the elements still
needs some work, for instance, the petals. There needs to be more variety in the
petals; that one repeated at the same angle make all the petals seem like
repetitions of one pattern. Also, you can see that they have a light edge in
places where the bg is darker. You may want to re-extract them.
I have a feeling that it needs some textures too. Kai already mentioned the
windows. Some cloud/mist textures over the bg I think would soften/lighten it so
that the scene doesn't look so...twighlight-zone-ish.
I've added some more textures to window and redone the shading. I also shrank
the moon and reworked the clouds. The windows have been changed so I want
opinions on whether it looks better closed or open. As for Shinku, I can't
really do anything to make her more clear cept for vectoring but with that many
layers of shading on her...I think I'll pass unless anyone would like to vector
her
.

I think it's supposed to mean that it's a little off. The
blue of the bg is a little too strong imo, a little too contrasted. Softing it
would make it easier on the eyes.
Also, the petals in that one corner are a little out of place, especially since
they're so 2D when the rest of the wall is so 3D.

Is that suppose to mean good, bad or unique?
