does anybody have photoshop cs, and how is it what new things are there in it and is it worth it to buy because i only have photoshop seven and i was wondering if photoshop cs was any better the photoshop seven

did u get use to PS7? I have CS2, its cool n its pretty much the same as PS7, but some minor changes made like the layer palette

i used Photoshop 6 last year XD

this year im using Photoshop CS, while i didnt fully explore PS6 last year since i did only a one semester course

But it is definately better, with Illustrator and such, its updated and easier to use i guess and more graphical quality on the GUI part anyway

Buying the CS pack is worth the money

i have cs2
and it is the same as cs1 but i just have to get more used to the new featureas on cs2
i never had photoshop 7 so i really can't tell u the difference
just new tools i guess

well, I'm using cs2 and it's better I think..

its definatelly got some new stuffs for photo editing...
dun kno if its worth it if ur only doin digital art...

new feautures from 7->cs2 (off the top of my head):

- extract (easily remove the background to transparent and leave the foreground character)

- shadow/highlight (amazing tool thats sooo much more powerful for adjusting lighting conditions than levels/curves...only downside: cant be used as an adjustment layer so its permanent)

- exposure (change the exposure and gamma...unless ur dealin wit photography, it wont really be that much usefull than levels/curves)

- photo filter (easily warm up or cool down an image...make it sepia tones...etc)

- vanishing point (its like the clone tool...only it clones to a perspective)

- healing brush (i dunno does ps7 have this? basically its a more powerful version of the clone tool that not only clones, but it blends in....cant say its really useful for digital art, but very useful for digital editing of photography...hey it is called photoshop)

- imageready (does ps7 come wit this or not?...basically an external program useful for readying images (lol) for the internet...exporting, animated gifs, image maps...etc, etc)

- more brush control (self-explanatory...do u use a tablet? its got pressure sensitive brushes)

- image browser (pretty much like open, only wit thumbnails and more detailed file info)

- obviously, updated interface and ease of use

hmm...cant really think of anything else rite now

it really depends on wut u use photoshop for whether u should upgrade or not

Umm...I think new file browser and filter gallery and editable keyboard shortcuts. In CS2 you can animate without having to go to ImageReady

You could use your 7 license to get CS2 for cheap.....

With a photoshop 7 license, it will cost around $170 to upgrade to CS2. It's $650 w/o a ps7 license. If you want all the stuff ajb was talking about then you need to purchase adobe creative suite 2 premium. With a photoshop 7 license, that will cost around $750 w/o a ps7 license its about $1,200 for the suite. Its insanely expensive, in my opinion.

Unless you have an alternative way of obtaining a working copy of the program or if you have tons of money and don't care how you spend it , then just stick with ps7 for now. The new upgrades aren't worth the money if your primary use of the program is making wallpapers.

you could also goto the adobe website and download the tryout version of CS2 it is just like the real thing except it can only be used for 30 days I think. Then you can see for yoursef wether you want to buy it!
