I havent really watched a lot of animes that involve racing and competitions, but i was wondering wat you guys think is the best? The only racing anime that ive somewhat seen is Initial D since ive played the arcade racing game, but jus wondered wat everyone else liked ^^

ive only seen initial D as well, and its really great. just that the eps come out very very slow

I've seen initial D and player the aracade game fairly well too....

If you are looking for some racing anime, try new century GPX cyber formula. It is plot drive and about pursuing dreams rather than focuing on cars like all the time in inital d.....

p.s. What are your times on the inital d game?

Drifting in real life is fun so its got to be Initial D of course..... Isnt really many racing anime out there but it like Drifting so nothing can really beat Initial D for me.

Being around the limits of tire grip is not a good thing.......

so i guess there realli arent much racing anime... although i kno there was one i saw in taiwan but that was like racing a toy car while skating through a course hehe... wasnt macross suppose to be racing anime too?

Being in taiwan at the moment, I'll say I've seen a bit of that one.....however it is aimed at people around 10....

Well ive never really heard too much about other racing animes besides initial D so I guess that most are not even that good or there aren't that many. either way, initital d is awesome.

well my cousin said that macross was one so i didnt really kno, but he doesnt usually kno anything bout anime so he's usually wrong

Anyway the anime's chinese name is 暴走兄弟, however there isn't enough internet presence for the fans (due to the fact that they are the same age group that watchs pokemon) for me to find it's Japanese name easily. As far as I know, there are no fansubs nor is there an non-trival chance of it getting licenced.

Just get shin-shiki GPX cyber formula, as it is licenced and released in North America already. It is not an bad series, though the first series is an bit old. (there are about 3TV seasons and an OVA or something....)

I guess initial d is the only good racing anime.. well at least that is known by people.. Ive never played the game.. although its in the arcade like 3 steps away from my house.

there arent that many racing animes out there. Of course, hands down to initial D. But when Over Rev gets animated *hopefully* hands down goes to Over Rev.

Phew, almost misses this thread. Initial D all the way. I am a huge fanboy ^^ .
The art isn't to everyone's taste, but the cars are modelled excellently and the races are great.

I haven't seen Initial D but i liked Ex-Drivers. Hope to collect the Initial D series some time soon.

Initial D definitely....good characters and cars

no point to this thread cause everybody knows there is only one who owns them all...INITIAL D is the king....
but saying that, it is an anime that specializes in a race of drifting only, other race anime like Ex-Drivers is good as well in another category.
I think when it comes to that, i like real championships better, but i suppose this would be good : Nascar.

Initial D. Hands down.

Its bad when you watch a series like this and it makes you want to get the cars and try to drift with them on Gran Turismo 1 thru 4! I am currently working on collecting the Fourth Stage Series on downloading, and collecting the Second Stage on DVD.

I like IGPX myself.
