This is currently the second old-photo type wallpaper I have done. I might have gone over board with the grunge or deteroiation on the picture itself. You guys think I should lessen it?

Anyway, I was trying to go back to my roots with landscape wallpapers. This wallpaper features Sousiseki in an old photo taken a long long time in the past when she was probably a real gardener in some real castle garden. XP Good old fairy tales..

This wallpaper is no where near done so I would really like some comments and critiques please. Thanks!

Bleh, I can't seem to find the edit button or is there one? The first link didn't work for some reason.

Edit link should be on the bottom of the post, along with report, quote, etc.? o_o

Hmmm... well, the idea is not bad, but there's a problem with different styles... There's an awful lot of detail in the foreground, like with the flowers and plants and such (which looks nice, by the way), while the background looks rather filtered, and a lot more stylized...

Keep things consistent :) If you'd like to keep a more realistic photo look, give the castle in the background more detail and lighten up on the background effects. If you want to create a more stylized look overall, lessen up the detail in the foreground. I think for this wall I'd lean towards the former than the latter... :3 Hope this helps :)

It's on the top, not the bottom. Just follow the line where your name is and the "r" "q" "g" stuff on the side is where it is. Should be the "e" link :P

It's a neat concept, but I agree with flyindreams. There's that inconsistency to the elements that end up like they don't belong together. But what's with the orangy stuff at the top? It seems... Odd cuz the rest of it is shades of browny color.

The overall concept is nice :) but for some reason the parts look detached, not integrated. Also, the thick outlines of the castle fights with the chara for attention. I would thin them out or lighten them.

I decided to change my mind about my old-photo type wallpaper so instead it'll be colored. After reworking the wallpaper this is what I think the final will be. Comments are greatly appreciated.

hmm i like colored version much :D
since im not a good wallpaper maker so i can't give you good advice
how about her csissor right next to her?
i don't know maybe just to make it look like a little rest after hard work >_<

The colored version is so beautifully done XD Really can't see any problems. I think some text would be a nice touch though. :)

Very unique looking. I like it a lot.

I think the only two suggestions that come to mind are playing with the amount of the orange color and its distribution a bit more to make it more even, and changing the font to something nicer.

Great wall. :)
