i luv that 1 fight between nagi and masataka from the tenjho tenge manga..................so violent

Odd that the title of the thread is "who loves bloody and gory anime/manga?!", yet the choices are rather tame in the survey; it's as if the survey is unrelated to the topic... o_O Bloody & gory anime/manga would included titles such as Berserk, Gantz, Hellsing, Fist of the North Star etc :P

Hm, Tenjo Tenge is actually relatively violent (at least in manga), though not as much as some listed by the previous post. Elfen Lied should also be included, I think. I also kind of agree that most of them are not violent at all (DBZ, Inuyasha). That is just my opinion though..

Anyway, in general, gore does not really play a big factor in me liking anime or manga. But, in some story, the gore and violence are useful "tools" to depict the situation or storyline or even the theme of the anime/manga.

I think a certain degree of realisim should be included, i sometimes get annoyed when a character stabs another and the blade is clean...

I love all anime manga. Elfen lied for example is gore but excellent

don't forget about Ninja Scroll and Blood+ thoses should have been added

If it's anime or manga it's good by me but I'd have to say that Inuyasha has some blood and gore. The demons just get sliced and dicintegrate but Inuyasha bleeds.

Hmm I'd have to say the Berserk manga is at the top of my list in terms of violent and gory manga. Too bad the anime got cut short.

well, let's say that hellsing is pretty bloody and gorey...and i liked it... ^______^ and if elfen lied was bloody and gorey...yaaaaay........elfen lied is my second fav anime ever...after fullmetal alchemist. and third come kiddy grade :P

Fullmetal Alchemist is great... but Tenjho Tengo is awesome

Full Metal Alchamist and Elfen Lied are top bloody on my list.

Love the gore, but I'd be hesitant to put DBZ or FMA up there, since they have minimal gore.

as always I'm the only on who likes dragonballz the most lol
anyway ye I like gore, realism makes things... real. so it's good.
want something really good? check out the manga called MPD Psycho, beats all those in that list

I think blood enhances the manga/anime's story. It... gives the reader a prominent feeling of sadness or awe. Also, it makes fight scenes much more realistic.

elfen lied wins hands down, story and gore!

Sometimes blood and gore can make or break an anime in my opinion. Like when they made Saiyuki into an anime, and instead of having blood the demons just sort of disintegrate Inuyasha style. It took away something from the story. A little blood makes the story more real, and heck, a lotta blood gives you Quentin Tarantino flashbacks. It doesn't bother me. ^_^

The only truly bloody and gorey anime/manga I've seen are Berserk (manga) and Elfen Lied (anime),
both are excellent in that they have great stories and the blood/gore isnt just there for the hell of it,

Oh yeah bloody animes i like them how about GANTZ that s*^t is crazy a whole ton of blood if you know what i mean.

Well i like Elfen Lied/FullMetal Alchemist/Hellsing ...etc... I like them all !
