Well, here's what happens. Im busy trying to get a wallpaper and the connection
resets. This happens about 7 times, and finally, when it does load, it says
"Pwn3d"
The Pwn3d comes after the first few times where the wallpaper loads 1/2 way
:-s
I wasted 8 on my free download quota for just one wallpaper
This is a broken link
report it when u see one.
There was no need to repeatedly attempt to download it.
and sad as it may be, that is a waste. too bad.

Except that I
said it wasnt broken.
When the image loads (even partially), it means the link isnt broken.
There is a difference between a broken link and a broken server
Yeah, this is happening with me, too, on every page I view and every wall I try
to download. So far, I figure about 14 or 15 of my free downloads have already
been burned up, yet I haven't gotten a single thing. Image connections will
simply freeze in mid-transfer and never come back up. Hitting refresh or going
back and re-clicking the link just starts the process all over again with the
same results. Hell, sometimes even the entire page refuses to load, even though
I already know that the page itself is good (because I've already been to it
once, despite the incomplete image downloads).
Seriously, this is something wrong with the server and its connections. Any idea
what's causing it or has it been investigated yet?
I also notice some problems. ACtually, a lot... the images just won't load. Huh.
Sometimes it'd load, but be blurry. Other times, only halfway. Other times it
wouldn't load, period. And sometimes, "no data" or something would pop
up.
It would seem Mt is going through some server problems at the moment which would
explain for the sudden slowness of the site and misloading of pages. So the only
thing we can do is be patient and hope things are fixed soon.

I did some
investigating:
The issue (as firefox tells me) is that the connection resets during
mid-transfer.
If anything, it seems like an overhead management issue in apache, but I could
be wrong.
I think what actually happened is they were attempting to load a new layout and
it threw a wrench in the works, because I was seeing the same slowdowns and
errors, and it took me 5 tries to send one PM. Anyway, I just stayed off the
site for 1 day and came back and it was normal again... Probably they decided to
work more of the bugs out of that new layout before they tried again.
Anyways, I'd say when the server gets bad like that, just leave it alone for a
while until they work the bugs out.

Had the same problem, wasted about 5 free downloads. Even on forum posts I had a problem.
now it looks ok, the speed just got fixed again.
I think whatever was wrong is ok now.

I just downloaded 7 images easily. no failures.
