Alright, guys, I want to know what if you give your parents nicknames or call
them by any other names besides mom and dad. Whether it be name calling or
nicknames. ^__^
Or wherther you just call them mom and dad. ^__^
I would like to know which names you use most often.
OPTIONAL: Why did you give them nicknames? ^__^
I'll start off!
I call my mom, "old woman" and "momma-chan."
I call my dad, "old man" and "dadda-chan."
With my mom I use the both nicknames interchangeably.
With my mom I use "old man" most often.
I choose to call my parents by something else other than mom and dad is to be
different from my siblings. I want my parents to have a fun name. It's also to
show them that I'm not afraid to call them something else other than mom and
dad.
OKAY, where's my first postee? My second and my third and my fourth... so on and
so on... ^__^
lo tau (old bean in chinese) is a normal chinese nick for my dad.
I would call him lo tau at times, but mostly just dad.
Ah mi (mother for short) is another normal cantonese nick. meaning mother, but
from today's age and time, hardly anyone does that anymore, my family still
honors this culture though, i would still call her Ah Mi.
I call my mom mommy most of the time.
I really don't like my dad, he's lucky I call him dad.
My grandpa is more of my dad, and when I was little I would call him Daddy Pa.
(Him and my grandma got alot of looks when I said that...), but now I call my
grandpa Daddy.
Baby names, I guess. Mommy and Daddy. No nicknames really, though, but when me
and my mom wanna pick on my grandpa, we'll call him Spot, because he has a gray
spot of hair on the back of his head (a birthmark), but we don't say it enough
to be a nickname..
Thats all!
I use most names that refers to mom and dad in my own language.
plus my dad sometimes gets called "stickan", with comes from his name
"Stig".
I have no idea why, but it kinda catches on =P
lol mum gives me stupid nickname, its embarrassing, its canto, im too lazy to
type story and think of translation for it, but i just call her "bap
po" (canto) dunno if thats how it would be spelt in englis though
Ya, I do give my mom and dad nicknames.
I'm not telling what the names are, but they certainly are not anything rude.
However, when I mentioned this to one or two of my friends, they think it's rude
of me to call my parents by their "names".
Ok kinda long story but i will tell u..
My mum cant pronouce my dads name...its "Russell" and my mum
pronounces it Lusser XP! So then my mum started to call my dad
"Duppa-chan" and my dad calls my mum "Chuppa-chan"...so i
became "Little duppa".
I call my dad "Gerald" dont ask me why thats not his real name I just
called him that once and it stuck! sometimes I call him "Daddy" as
well
I mostly just call my mum "Mum" but sometimes "Mummy" when
I'm being silly and I sometimes call her "Woman"
Ya know, I really don't have nicknames for my parents. I called my stepmom, who
I love dearly, a Kitchen Nazi once (she's from Germany and is a
cooking/"Keep the counters clean!" freak)... never did that again.
My sibs, though... I got tons of names for them! I'll share a few...
I call my sis Beth "Troll" or "Stanley" 'cause that movie,
"A Troll In Central Park", terrified her... besides, she calls me
Sasquatch.
Both my little bros go by either "Midgekit" or "Chibi".
My stepsisters are special enough not to have nicknames.
That's all I'll list. There's a ton more, but I'm just feeling lazy right now.
