This moring on mtv news i saw what the world was doing to this girl in some
place(forgot). they explelled here for being lesbian.
that is seriously not right in my eyes, she was also an honors student, this
world is so wrong, Do you peopleat MT belive that this is wrong?
is being homosexual wrong, i mean they are human, they breath like us, they talk
like us...why do they have to be reconized for who they have fallen in love
with. put yourself in their shoes, better yet what if you were not allowed to
love the person that you love. please share your opinion, what do you think
about thezse types of acts?
This is wrong! Doing like that to a human who is born like that is so wrong!
Love is love, no matter what the persons are like. It can be from gay to
lesbian, but its still love, and it should not be interfered. Those who blaimed
her and expelled her doesnt even know how it is to be homosexual. I wish they
are going to be punished for expelling her because of that reason! And I say it
again. Love is LOVE! Because of that, persons who are homosexual cant have a
life with love and romance! They cant express their feelings for each other if
persons are hunting down homosexuals. Having it that way is really unfair! Which
persons are feeling bad just because two loves each other (except for those who
loves one of them).
I hope the bad guys will learn a lesson in the future. Give freedom to those who
loves each other!
that is wrong...jus cuz people r different doesnt mean that they cant fit into
the norms...everyone is the same...we r all humans n deserve every right to be
equal...no one is superior to anyone
What MTV neglected to tell people is that it was a religious school, and that
being homosexual is against the tenants of their faith. Thus, she violated their
rules.

ah, see that's what i was just about to ask. i read about this story awhile back
(in some magazine...) and while i don't believe in discrimination it IS a private school so they have the right to
do what they want because they don't get federal funding. however, if the school
did not make such a policy clear to the student and her parents (as in, it was
explicitely stated that a student's enrollment could be terminated based on
sexual orientation because it goes against the teachings of the school) then i
believe that the school was at fault.
It comes as no surprise that this is a religious school; places like that
disgust me because of things like this. Even if she did violate their
"rules", I still think that expelling someone for who they are is
ridiculous. Really, how can simply being something constitute violating a rule?
This is a scary world.
Quote by ShamshielReally, how can
simply being something constitute violating a rule?
Have you
ever heard of all-girls or all-boys schools? There, it's certainly against the
rule to be of the opposite gender.

then i believe that the school was at fault.
Not necessarily.
Private schools by definition are allowed to be selective in their enrollment
based on their own criteria of academic performance, background, creed, and the
like, all of which can be spelled out in a general vision statement. It is
unreasonable to expect schools to generate current lists of acceptable and
unacceptable attributes by which to compare every student; as long as
prospective students conform generally to the archetype that the school is
looking for, they are welcome to matriculate. In that case, the student should
not have been enrolled at that school in the first place, and in that light the
school administration can be seen as simply correcting an oversight that had
been made at the time of enrollment.
i don't think it's fair to expel that girl just because she's a lesbian! that's
not a good reason to expel anyone. but i guess a religious school is, well,
religious, and being homosexual is sorta violating the religions. i happen to
know quite a lot of lesbians, and i did study in an all-girls school
thankfully the teachers didn't really mind them.
Homosexuality is wrong. But we must love homosexuals, because they are human
beings, they have feelings and they need our help. Just because they have this
tendency does not mean that we have to disrespect and humiliate them. We need to
support them so they can see, what is wrong and fix it in their lives.

Love the sinner, hate the sin? While I can support that ideology, I'm afraid
that there are far too many people in the world who would like to see extremism
on BOTH ends of the equation.
MTV, editing the facts of the story, is just such a force.
The people who awarded the Golden Globe to Brokeback Mountain are another. The
movie hasn't made that much at the box office, but to demand that the public at
large accept marginal behavior and consider it normal, they pile their praise
and adulation on this film.

You know, Hitler had a similar agenda about "helping" the
"wrong" of homosexuality. It involved rounding up and sending
homosexuals and other undesired persons off to extermination camps where they
were of course starved, shot, buried alive in mass graves, and shoved into gas
chambers that were disguised as shower facilities so they could be poisoned with
Zyklon-B, a chemical that was normally used for killing rats. Your blatant yet
subtle fascist rhetoric echoes with the unbridled hatred and intolerance that
I've come to expect of the far right-wing, don't even try to sugar-coat it with
any of the things your pastor or sunday school teachers drilled into your
skull..
We don't need to "help" them change into who we want them to be, we
need to show acceptance of who they are rather than force them to fit into a
social mold of who they are not.
It is indeed, everyone has its way of living, and if she chose lesbianism, then
it's her own problem, but taking such actions against her personal choices is
seriously wrong. Others shouldn't meddle in the lives of others that chose a
different path.

Acyx is completely right. There's nothing else to say.
It is definately wrong.
The point that this school might be religious and according to them that is
wrong, they have nothing to back themselves up with that. In the bible there is
not anything about homosexual people what I have read. There is no "it is
very very very wrong to be homosexual", I would say that they hide behind
the bible just so they can justify their own prejudice against something they do
not understand.
They could instead do what the bible actually states wich is to be kind to
everyone, friend or foe. I mean, Jesus got murdered of people who were unable to
see because they were clouded by prejudice. BUT! he did not say that they should
be punished for it! he only said that they did not know what they were doing.
And it is claer that theese people who reject her from a school just because she
is homosexual does not know what they are doing =P
i thnk its kinda stupid and evil to expel somebody for something so foolish.
that girl can be what she wants, lesbian or bisexual or anything, they dont have
the right to expel her. i think its totally stupid mentality
I think she should have gotten counseling, not expelled. She doesn't even have a
sexual identity established yet, and has no idea if she is really a lesbian or
not. She was most likely feeling surpressed in a religious school and was
looking for attention. Since we don't have the article it is pretty retarded to
be talking about this... We have no idea how the school knew she was a lez, how
old she was, how other kids treated her, etc... I think she should have had a
counselor talk to her about if she is really a lez, and probubly tell her what
the religion teaches.
Quote by xshintax Since we don't have

how the school knew she was a lez, .
I believe I read about this in our local paper, though I can't really post a
link since I don't know which day it appeared in.
The school found out because several teachers noticed what they called, "An
unusual relationship" between the girl and one of her classmates. The
principal called them in to discuss it, and during the interview, she confessed
her predilictions. If I'm remembering correctly, she's something like 16 or 17.
Well, I'm guessing she got expelled from a Christian School, Christians teaches
that homosexuality is a sin. But Christians should be tryna change the girl into
a straight person, I think expelling her would just make her life even worse.

Homosexuals will tell you that they cannot change. They claim that it is how
they are born, and not a choice.
Biologically speaking, it is an abberration. In nature, a homosexual creature
cannot reproduce. That defeats the purpose of biology.
So if it is a condition of birth, it is a genetic abberration. Now that being
said, I harbor no animostiy towards the gay and lesbian community. I simply
don't suport them either. I leave them alone. My problem comes from trying to
redefine societal norms, like the definition of marriage. We didn't permit that
here in Texas, and save for the courts of Massechusetts, no other state permits
it either.
That´s wrong, like the 60% of the thing in this world. It
is not her fault. you can´t force somebody to change. What
the problem if she is lesbian? That is not a crime or something like that. She
is in her right to do wathever she wants with her life. The problem is that it
was a religious school.
I prefer to be far away from religions.
Wow tough issue since shes a lesbian at a religious school that doenst allow
homosexuality. THtas tough situation there. It kinda wrong since you denying her
intelligence due to her sex orientation. Even if it does violate the rules, she
should be allow to continue with her school simply because she seems(as other
said) like a very good student and has does nothing. But just because of her
sexual orientation(which sexual orientation does not effect to much on how you
learn in school) she was kicked out. I go with the person who first posted and
believe this is wrong.
Well, if a lesbian goes to a Christian school, it's hard to believe that people
won't react like that; the fact that she was in such type of school wasn't of my
knowledge, and it changes a bit my opinion.
Even though it is wrong and stuff, you can't expect for a Christian to let it
slide, because if they let one slide, then they have to let everything slide,
though instead of expelling people, they should try talking and reach an
agreement between both person and school. Unless she did something that she
wasn't supposed to, then it was right, though that might have not happened
anyway.
do we even know if she goes to a religious school? if it was just some public
school that she went to i think it is wrong for them to expell her for being
lesbian. but if she went to a religious school, on the other hand, and that
school had those religious rules and all that, then i guess it was appropriate
for them to expell her. you see, that is because god made adam and eve, not adam
and steve. that must mean that when god was creating you he meant for you to be
straight. not gay or lesbian. it is her fault for being lesbian. she MADE
herself lesbian.

I agree with Acyx. Homosexuality is a predetermined
thing, not something "wrong" that can be "fixed". It's not a
choice, and it's not like some kind of curable disease. It's just a fact of
life.
Who cares if a man or woman falls in love with someone who has the same body
parts? Do the sexual orientations of people you don't even know hurt you in any
way? Love isn't about gender.
I can't believe there are still people who think that way.
Um...I didn't read the people before me but I think that it's is just wrong that
you're not allowed to love the people you can't help but loving and
homosexuality isn't a sin or wrong because you can't help the way you are. And
it might be hard on you, especially if you have a religon that forbits
homosexuality. My mom says it's unnatural because the majority of humankind
isn't homosexual (maybe). I have no problem with "gay" people and
although I wouldn't say yes if a girl asked me out, I wouldn't discriminate
against them, although if I was putting myself into a lesibian's shoes, I would
be really scared because society sucks when it comes to accepting new things.
